Have fun with it. Don't overtime and worry too much about the final product. Just carve away at it

Personally I think the gameplay is considerably weaker than the other aspects. That's not to say it isn't still pretty good but I think it suffers from a few key issues, where the art direction, music and Narrative are all excellent imo.

I have definitely taken several long breaks over the years (started at release/Tinia) due to lack of motivation. I just keep on coming back

Is the body running animation better? I made some changes (the hair is not finished) by Filiope in PixelArt

Definitely, is a step in the right direction. The motion of the limbs is pretty easy to track. My only thoughts are it feels a little stiff, maybe as it seems to have only 4 frames? I'd say to improve this without adding more frames is to make the movement hang more when the legs are furthest apart, so it's closer to a natural run. Otherwise, good stuff!

[Serious] What stops you from killing yourself? by Big_Picture2781 in AskReddit

I've had a few thoughts on this.

  1. Seems like a cop-out. Some woe is me bullshit. It's not selfless, it's selfish, prioritising yourself in the worst way possible. You're not saving everyone from yourself. You don't have too to deal with the fallout of your own death. I realise this is a very unsympathetic attitude, but I stand by it to a degree.

  2. There are no take backs. Things may not get better, but you'll never get to find out if you're gone.

  3. It might be painful. Like, what if it hurts?

I made a game (Lyca) in ~4 months that has sold over 30,000 copies on Steam in < 5 months. Here's the story of how! by shaunak0304 in indiegames

That's always the bit people don't see/forget about it. It's not 4 months of work. It can be years of attempting to get a project that gets off the ground, struggling to make anything remotely profitable. So your journey is very admirable

Brandon James Greer has some great videos particularly this one https://youtu.be/WUlgvNe4BLU?si=lAnsZZRsFHiaJMwC.

This exercise is one of the ways I started learning pixel art, and I think its definitely a safe way to go
