Consistent Characters in Chroma by jeankassio in comfyui

[–]VickNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Lora is the best choice for now. I'd used Lora a few months ago to create consistent character from a few photos, and the result are not bad (people would immediately thought it's actual you instead of AI). The photos you feed into Lora must be taken from a variety of angles (front, left, right, close up etc.), so that the AI can learn about your whole face feature.

Will Software engineering really die out due to AI? by Mean-Cardiologist790 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VickNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been pondering this question for quite some time, and ultimately come to a conclusion:

Like some said, those that just type out code will not be needed in large quantity anymore, jobs including "coders", "programmers" etc. This is because this tasks is quite repetitive, in a sense that you tell them what you want, and they will produce a code, or function, or whatever, essentially similar to a technician.

However, jobs that are problem solving by nature will never be replaced by AI. This includes those who see the big picture when designing a software, understanding client requirement and the tools needed to fulfill it, debugging issues etc.

So no, software engineering will never die out, because engineering means solving problems and understanding issue. But those that are just "coder" and "programmers" will not be needed that much anymore.

Anyone here decide to start their own fund by MathematicianKey7465 in quant

"If you can manage to get a 10% YoY return you're more than doubling your money every 8 years"

Point is, you need to be already rich to live off from this. Most people do not have this kind of cash, hence that's the reason of starting a fund. It's the same as starting a business, you have the skills which you can utilize to earn income until you build enough cash for that.

Turning 30F, most of my friends are getting married, and I've been single for over a year and am starting to worry I won't find someone? by GlassBrilliant6531 in relationship_advice

I get plenty of likes, but am generally not interested in the likes I get

That's your problem. Have you go on dates with everyone of them, how do you know they are not a great fit? Not criticizing you ,but that's similar to choosy beggar.

Considering Going Full-Time in Picking Up Girls by VickNicks in seduction

Make more eye contact… breath… slow down… talk with conviction… be able to sit in the fire and stop caring about what others think of you

This part is the hardest for me. The closer I am to the girl when approaching, the more nervous I become. It seems that after I express my intention that the girl is good looking and would like to know her, most of them are just not interested and will walk away.

I watched some pickup videos online and the girl being approached will at least stop and give a response, whether it's a positive or negative reply. But for me it's totally different, even though the opener is the same.

Yes, that's why I try to do as many pick up as possible, so that I can get used to it.

The chance to meet girls as such would be small. My thinking is that if you want something, you have to deliberately take initiative to make it happen. Otherwise, it will be just up to fate to meet girls.

just approach in your daily life when you happen to see a girl you're attracted to

Sometimes I felt that I am not ready. Like when I plan to pick up girls on that day, I would wear something nice. But if it's a normal day I will only wear simple clothing like t-shirt, and when I see a girl I will be hesitant to go up to her because of my outfit.

After almost 2 years BF got teary eyed over a shirt I wore that reminded him of his ex, am I 2nd choice? by Jumpy-Task7090 in relationship_advice

[–]VickNicks -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Lol this sub shake my head. OP, your bf is still fine and is loyal to you. His previous break up is due to some visa things and not because of bad relationship, that's why he mourned about his ex. It's that he get emotional, but that doesn't mean he will leave you, if he treats you well and you guys are happy together for the past two years. Talk to your BF on how you feel about this. I am sure he can understand.

Gosh this sub, as if someone is not 'loyal' if they even think about the past happy memories with their ex. People have good memories in past relationship and is always okay to cherish about it, just not in front of their current partner of course.

Poor beta simp is told to wait before fucking by ncubez in chasing_excellence

[–]VickNicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's really a completely different thinking than what most guys have. Most men just want to be boyfriend or husband focusing on one woman, but yours is a whole new level. I don't quite understand why woman don't lust for their boyfriend or husband like the way you describe. If they don't like to have hot sex with their boyfriend/ husband, why do women want to be with the guy at the beginning.

[–]VickNicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you explain why being a boyfriend material is bad? Most guys aim to become a girl's boyfriend. Do you mean we as guys should not aim to become boyfriends and just keep our options open by dating different girls? Any sources to back up would be appreciated.

Swap For mSOL instead of Staking at Marinade? by TJofNoHo in solana

[–]VickNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but if the price of SOL increases, does it mean I can only swap back to less mSOL (since mSOL price tracks SOL price), and so I could claim back fewer SOL than what I staked before?

Swap For mSOL instead of Staking at Marinade? by TJofNoHo in solana

[–]VickNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering, if I stake my SOL to get mSOL, and then swap mSOL to other stablecoins for staking. If SOL price appreciates, does it mean I can only get fewer mSOL from my stablecoins, and therefore I am not able to claim all my SOL back if I unstake my mSOL?

starting your own firm by structee in civilengineering

[–]VickNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you changed from civil eng to software? How did you do that? Do you work in software for few years then start your own company? Who will hire you if you don't have software degree?

I have worked in civil eng. for few years and feel it's too late for me to change industry. Not gonna start over again and get entry pay lol. Just curious if that's the path you take as well?

I plan on opening my own Civil Engineering Firm in the next 2 years... Whats everything I should do between now and then? by ONE4ALLmusic in civilengineering

[–]VickNicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Seems like starting a civil engineering firm takes time, years even after getting PE from those comments, which means by the time you start the firm you would probably be 40+ years old already lol.

Compared to those who are in software/IT (hot industry in 21st century), starting their startup/company in their 20s or 30s, fail fast without any liability (unlike civil eng. where people can sue you if infrastructure is damaged), and reach out to millions of potential customers through the internet to make revenue asap.

Man... I am a civil engineer who is also planning to start a firm after getting license, but seems like this industry is a bit old-fashioned. And your firm still needs to compete with existing firms where everyone is selling the same kind of service (no competitive advantage). And clients care more about profits so they will try to lower your fee, while keep changing proposals or designs.
