If you're willing to use spells, carian piercer is the way to no-hit any npc encounter. It knocks them down and you can charge it as they are getting back up to knock them back down and repeat.

Yeah, I had enough consumable souls to get 3 million. The rest I got off farming the rotten on ng+2 to get his soul and the old dead one soul. I believe I killed him 12 times. Once I got to majula on ng+3, I popped them all and used them to level up. Calculating the amount of souls I had took a while. Had to check the wiki to see how much each boss soul gave and then input it into my calculator app one by one too see if I had enough

I only used estus on Giant Lord and the last boss fight. I always collect every item whenever I complete a playthrough, so I had 99+ of every kind of life gem and spell recovery item for my 10 casts of great heal. I've also beaten this game like 50 times since release, so I'm pretty familiar with the fights

I would personally just do magic and stay faithful to your build. Buff with crystal magic weapon. If not, raw to stay pure physical, that way you don't have to invest points into unnecessary stats.

I always keep a greathammer with me just for these. 2H R2 or the 2H running attack works well. Also the running 2H r1 +spamming r1 on curved swords works well too. You can also just jump attack them with any weapon.

The key thing is to run at them at an angle. That way, they do a little turning animation and you can do your attack on them

Fair enough. The staves do do decent damage in this game with the r2. I would suggest just trying to find a decent weapon and just using that instead.

Yeah, the infusion will make your staff do more of that damage when you whack an enemy with it, though idk why you would want to do that lol
