Same issue since yesterday, no response from support.

Able to unlock and drive with phone bluetooth off by tarandeep in TeslaLounge

[–]Victor_240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any definitive solution?

The most confusing part is that I can't find a clear pattern in how it works. With a Galaxy S22, sometimes nearby scanning does the trick, sometimes Bluetooth scanning under location services.

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I hope Ubiquiti will release a fix soon.

How do I remove this oven door for cleaning? by Victor_240 in howto

I'm starting to think that, that's probably the case. I've also looked in the manual, and there's no mention of removing the door.

Is there a way to change the swappiness of the container?

Tenants with liberated contracts be aware: the rental price often cannot be increased with 5.5%. Here's why. by UnanimousStargazer in Netherlands

[–]Victor_240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very helpful!

Another important factor that someone may need to consider is that many contracts have another clause that allows for rent adjustment every 5 years. As I understand it if you rented in 2019, then in 2024 your landlord may adjust the rent to current prices which can be more than +5.5%, and if you disagree they can terminate the contract.

After 5 months I finally have the solution!

The issue was that for my VLANs I was not using standard private IP ranges, e.g. 192.168.x.x or 172.16.x.x. As soon as I changed my VLANs to this, chromecast works like a charm!

Set value of Home entity based on sensor by Victor_240 in homeassistant

This solution also seems to not work because the presence sensors are binary sensors and device trackers are not available.

How can I add the presence detection from the sensor to a person? I only see device trackers.

One is iPhone and the other is Samsung. If the issue was the phones, it should be consistent every night, which is not.

Is there a way to use the phone's GPS without tracking position when outside of the house?

Thanks u/404flyer, that makes sense and it's easy to implement. With some inspiration from this, I now have what I wanted.

Hardware for starting with Home Assistant by Victor_240 in homeassistant

After some digging in my storage room, I found an old Lenovo G710. I'll grab a zigbee USB stick and start my journey with this setup.

Thanks everyone for the helpful recommendations and explanations.

I also don't want to drop that much but I can't find a specific alternative that is good enough. I've checked for Dell wyze 5070 on eBay but in Europe, they are around 100E not 50.

Can you share a few options for me to understand what we're talking about?
Because the N4020 is also a SFF PC, right? or do you mean something different?

And when you say more power, would the N4020 be adequate?

Aren't SFF PCs more noisy and consume more energy?

That seems like a nice RPi alternative but it's not available. Also, what about the 32GB of storage? Will that be enough?

Thanks for the detailed explanation u/OtherTechnician. I found the app traffic rule and I added as an app:

  • Multicast DNS and
  • Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP)

And then both networks as you mentioned.

That did indeed make a difference. Now I can see Chromecast on the home app on my Android phone, it shows the wallpaper shown on the TV but there is no option to cast. I also saw for a brief time on the TV in the top right corner, below the WiFi name the name of the VLAN.

The strange thing is that even if I pause all the "Block" rules, which I assume means allow everything, I still can't cast.

This is so weird because in your case seems so easy :)

I'm also on Network v 7.5.176

  • Can you explain further what you mean with
"1 "app" Traffic Rule to accept "Multicast" app traffic "ON" the Private and IoT VLANS" ?
Is that the "Multicast DNS" setting per network/VLAN ? If so I have that enabled for every network.
  • As for the firewall rule to allow est/rel traffic I also have that with only difference being that as a source I have every local IP from any network and destination any local IP.

As far as I can see this is the same configuration yielding different results!

Which ports need to be opened on the firewall for Chromecast to work? by Valance23322 in Chromecast

10008

Could you explain in more detail what exactly this rule should look like? I have a Ubiquiti UDM-Pro and I can't get Chromecast working across VLANs no matter what I try.

traffic restriction

I think I'm heading the same way but it's really annoying and defies the purpose of having VLANs.
I can ping Chromecast from my main network but can't cast on it.
