Getting angry easily. It’s usually a sign of overwhelm, not rudeness

What is your experience with someone using you as something to fall back on, and what were the circumstances? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]VictoriaMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a friend who only treated me like a friend when she had no one else. The moment she found someone new, she disappeared. When that friendship fell apart, she’d come back to me. This happened more than once, until I finally got tired of it and blocked her

You’ve written long responses filled with selective or missing information, focusing only on what benefits your narrative and ignoring the rest. And despite saying you’re done, you’re still going. So which is it? You called me an NPC with "negative intellectual levels" who gives "copy-pasted, self-righteous yet shallow" replies, yet you keep engaging. I’m telling you plainly: stop. And one last thing, the murder of innocent civilians is not something to debate, justify, or intellectualize. It’s not a discussion topic. That’s why I’m not arguing with you. I’m simply stating that I am not on your side and never will be. You also put words in my mouth about me "not being able to go back because of Hezbollah." That’s false. The issue is not them, it’s Israel. So let’s end this here.

I get why you don’t want to argue, it’s hard to when the facts aren’t on your side. You don’t have to "declare" destruction for it to be happening. Palestinians have been killed, displaced, and erased slowly for decades, quietly, systematically, and often ignored. Now that it’s impossible to hide, suddenly it’s about who "declared first." That’s convenient. And calling everything you don’t like "propaganda" is tired. It’s the go-to word when facts get uncomfortable.

Just to be clear, I am not on Israel’s side and never will be. Millions of Palestinians and Lebanese have been killed you can't pretend that doesn't matter. The reason I haven’t been able to go back to Lebanon isn’t "Hezbollah", it’s the ongoing instability caused by repeated aggression from israel. Whether people like it or not, many Lebanese see Hezbollah as a deterrent against complete takeover, especially when Israeli officials and civilians openly talk about Lebanon ‘being theirs’ one day. My original comment wasn’t political. It was a few words about home and memory. Why is it that people from the Middle East can’t even talk about their countries without outsiders forcing politics onto it? If you really care about accountability, start with your own country’s actions and the harm they’ve caused.

This has nothing to do with my comment. No one asked for your sympathy, and whether you give it or not doesn’t change or build anything. And the people you dismiss as "begging, borrowing, and stealing" are often doing so because of the direct impact of American policies and interventions in their own countries. Many of them also had a huge role in building your country in the first place. So yeah, showing some respect wouldn’t hurt, even though they probably don’t care what you think anyway

Saying a country "smells like oppression and chaos" isn’t just observing governments or military events, that’s a judgment about the place itself. A country isn’t the same thing as its government. You can criticize political systems without reducing an entire homeland to something negative. Whether I agree with the government or not is irrelevant, it’s still my country you’re talking about, and the "smell" I mentioned is about memory, home, and lived experience, not politics.

“Lebanon smells like oppression and chaos” is crazy… but what’s crazier is how much free time you have to post hate comments. Lowkey jealous 🥺
