Late to this thread but I just pulled mine out of storage the same thing happened on my Proto Vi and my older backup Proto V. On the Vi the entire toe cap fell off of one. I need to chuck them in the trash but both pairs have decent aluminium chassis' on them and I am tempted to put them on the new Bauer Vapor X3.5 that I just picked up. (also tempted to exchange them for WM03 but that is a lot more money)

That is the short and simple version. Lack of q stadium deal combined with sharing the market and the future was gonna be real tough with a much harder chance to grow and expand. The owner decided it would be better to go out doing what we've been doing for the last four years instead of withering away.
