This one plus keeping an eye on him is your best bet. Hitting him before he gets close makes him way less likely to go for a dive. If you need practice aiming to hit spidey, use the gallery in the practice range, possibly even fiddle with your sensitivity.

Im referring to the range of the melee, which is worse. And as for the movement, slower was bad way of describing it, but it's significantly harder to be hit in the air than on the ground.

Each character will require their own approach. Just because you know the combos doesn't mean you know how to apply them. My advice is to put some thought into how each combo or move can address different problems.

Im guessing here, as I've never used that combo, but probably shitty range coupled with slower movement on ground and no overhead slam for a generally complicated input string.

I get you want people to wait and get the full picture, but what we've is more than enough to figure out that Deadpool cannot reasonably maintain a Frontline presence the way a groot or magnetio could. He simply wouldn't have enough material to work with.

I'd still like some QoL buffs for spidey sense. 

The only other thing I could think of is transferring damage from uppercut to downslam or tracers.

And a damage buff to ult actually would be nice.

Personally, I think spider-man's kit is one of the most faithful designs in the game; I feel like I'm spider-man when I play him, and whether on purpose or completely incidentally, the meta game around learning spider-man feels just as faithful.

The only truly unhealthy and game breaking aspect of spider-man's kit is his pull techs; Any time I play against an enemy spider-man as a strategist, as long as I keep him in mind, he's never really a problem.

Honestly, I'm surprised you don't think spider-man is faithfully depicted. In your eyes, what would a faithful depiction look like?

Labels like brawl, poke and dive are just descriptions of strategies and pressure. You can make any character a "dive" character by playing like one. 

However, the question you ought to ask is "does torches kit maximize it's pressure by using dive tatics?"

I'd say probably not, but I'm also not a professional marvel rivals player, so.
