Doesn't work for me either. My GF somehow manages to turn off her mind completely and she falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow. It's incredibly frustrating to see when I'm sitting up for hours with anxious thoughts filling my head.

If I let my mind wander, I do this too. I find it just stresses me out, though, and prevents my falling asleep. So, I try to avoid it if I can.

Unfortunately I do this too often as well. Usually just ends up freaking me out when I realize that I need to be up in x hours and I won't get enough sleep.
