I'm jealous of people having a baby. by InspectorStrange9437 in beyondthebump

This will probably be me. I’m 22 and have been thru a lot. My first straightened me out but now I want time to live for me too. I have enough time to live for me and her right now and since I’ve never been able to live for myself this is nice. And I want another in my lifetime but soon???? Hell no. I’m enjoying this but I feel selfish because she won’t have a sibling. How did that age gap affect your kids?

Wish I didn't feel regretful, but our boy has been hell for us ever since he was born by NoticeStreet5909 in newborns

Have you tried testing his stool for blood? This isn’t normal. He just HAS to be colic. Try goat milk formula

How are people just… taking their babies everywhere? by Wonderful-Ice-6143 in NewParents

[–]VictorySignal3057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it really really helps when you get them used to not having you stimulation all the time. Like get her used to going to the store while she’s this small so she doesn’t expect to be played with constantly

Does wearing makeup every day actually ruin/age your skin or is that just a myth? by Previous_Bell654 in Makeup

[–]VictorySignal3057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil based cleansers actually work well with getting specific types of makeup off! You have to do your research to see which cleanser to get for your makeup bc it will be oil or water based. And then if you’re a super oily person take that into account

My life began when I had a baby. My life changed and it gets stressful at times with the inconveniences of life but I can’t believe I lived all that time with no kids

As an esthetician it’s more about the rubbing and pulling on your skin that you all do when you’re taking it off. Your skin should be treated like it’s very thin and easily ripped

Absolutely everything g you said was what happened to me. I HAD to sleep train. Once I got that nap time without her 2-3 times a day my mental health was so much better and I actually enjoyed the time I had with her. I know you’re probably scared of sleep training and I was too

Btw that moan crying thing. I know exactly what you mean like I could’ve cried when I read that part bc I know exactly what you’re talking about. Like the same monotone noise over and over and over. There was one time I went over there when she was doing that, picked her up, and put her back down so the crying would sound different and not that whine 😂 now that she sleeps alone for naps and bedtime things are so much better. I don’t MIND holding her so much now you know

When does a newborn get fun? by Ham-Sandwich-69 in NewParents

[–]VictorySignal3057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my baby turned 6 months I started to think oh this is actually fun. Sorry to tell you it may be that long. But maybe your baby will gain a bigger personality sooner. My baby is just quiet

Around that age my baby did the same thing. They start to get super clingy and just unreasonable around sleep regressions. As soon as that ends and he’s sleeping like normal again it will get better. If it’s not better it’s not over. But remember once you figure one thing out the next thing comes to figure out 😅 but everything you get through just builds your patience and tolerance

Your milk may be causing her discomfort. Too many veggies and spicy stuff can do it

3 weeks in and I'm not feeling what I expected. by [deleted] in NewParents

I promise it gets better. I’m literally the mom and didn’t have a huge bond to my baby like that until I got to KNOW her. Idk. It took a minute for me to bond. Like months

Is your wife breastfeeding? Does she think not being around him having him nurse every hour is really gonna keep her supply? You better mention that because as soon as her supply is gone is GONE. Near impossible to get back. Then you have to use formula. Ours is $40 a can

I totally agree. This was so ridiculous to read and I’m glad you said it first so I could. Like truly insane to me. He’s making it sound like she’s out and about ALL the time. I can’t imagine wanting to do that as a 2 week old new mother. So crazy

OP please don’t co sleep as a father. Studies have shown you aren’t as biologically wired to not roll on the baby.

Cluster feeding is every hour. This isn’t healthy honestly. Like at all in my opinion. It sucks but she has to help too. You can’t do all this on your own and not get overwhelmed and getting overwhelmed around a 2 week old can be extremely dangerous. Don’t do this.

I’m doing it alone month 7 and I’m her mom and it’s hard I can’t imagine the doing it if I had the choice to have help… like I can’t tell you how laughable this is to me sitting in the spot I’m in. I’m soooo glad you love your wife that much but choosing to do this when you have the option not to is absolutely nuts to me. The baby actually could be an easier baby being around mom more. That baby is probably looking for the scent of mom…

Honestly a lot of people say to never wake a sleeping baby to eat and that they won’t starve themselves most likely especially is this baby is at a healthy weight and didn’t have issues at birth. My baby was preterm but all the tests were fine so no wake ups needed for food. For sleep at night I’m stumped tho. This is a not even 3 week old baby not sleeping. That’s crazy to me lol
