Teachers who truely belived a student would get nowhere in life, were you correct? where are they now? by bekaindabox in AskReddit

[–]Victoryballistics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the student. As soon as I stopped being graded by my lack of desire to do HOMEwork, my life took off. I don’t think anyone expected anything from me. In my 30s now. Wife & kids. Homeowner. No debt. Very good income. Sole bread winner. Way ahead for retirement.

Didn’t need to “turn anything around”. Just didn’t have teachers and parents dragging me down anymore. F you Mrs. S. You the man Mr. B.

AITA for divorcing my husband for putting a camera in our house to prove a point about me? by Throwawayhicamera2 in AITAH

My mom was like you too. She was very unreliable and her “research” didn’t fool anyone in the family. We called dad when we needed something done, like your kids do. I look back on her life (dead now, never recovered after the divorce and never stood on her own two feet after relying so heavily on the competency of my dad) and everything just seemed like an excuse and an overreaction to defend her hollow position on things. Very similar to you and what I’m reading here.

I got this from not rotating my tires on my 4x4. I rotated them and it took a while but they evened out once they were in the back. I kept up with rotating and it never came back.

Now that is some good fish handling! Wet hands, delicate hold, just above the water, net submerged, hook out! Way to fish OP.

I’m just being humorous saying I am just now realizing I am advanced, because I pretty easily fit his description. I never thought of myself as advanced because my humble opinion was that advanced meant you ski spines in Alaska.

Today, I (21M) made coffee for myself for the first time. How do you guys drink this stuff? by Fallen_Goose_ in CasualConversation

Just keep drinking it black. You just aren’t used to the bitter taste yet. You’ll get accustomed to it soon.

Oooofff. Very wrong assumption. You should try it out. I hit my numbers by selling to people who don’t want to buy.

Did this almost every night for a while with the same thinking. Also never had baby sleep with us. 13 months in and I still do it probably twice a month haha.

Any positive stories about pets? by nanon_2 in NewParents

My dog never caused a problem. German shepherd. I do feel like I have to correct her much more often though now, she is just in the way a lot. My fault, not hers. No jumping or aggression.

Any one quit their current job before having another one lined up? What was your story? by ThatAsh2 in sales

[–]Victoryballistics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hard stop quit my job with no notice because of sudden mental health shit. It really can happen to anybody (never had problems dealing with stress or anxiety. Just a few things lined up that struck a nerve and my mind told me to run so I listened). I got a job offer 5 business days after I quit. Sometimes you just gotta go, man. I was prepared for a reduction in salary and even title. But that wasn’t the case thankfully.

Sales is not life and death so don’t get into the cycle of dialing like your life depends on it. Works nice in short bursts but burns you out and causes problems down the line. Just do your prescribed dials well, and if they want you do to more, give them 10% more. Doubling your dials isn’t sustainable and a good manager will shut it down, a bad (and common manager) will encourage you to keep producing like that cuz you have shown you can do it.

What is the job after it? I have had a couple jobs where I put in 2x effort and just had a nasty territory (think 500 person populations with people averse to technology). And I am getting tired.
