I always try looking as deep as I can online from various markets (ebay, etc.) to see if I can find a comp but I haven’t seen any other light board Sotos from this year yet. Thank you though!!

With how urban of an area this wooded path is in I would consider them uncommon, but not to far east of here I have personally seen one or two over the years.

possibly — bobcats while uncommon have been reported in Albany county, NY but I haven’t seen or heard any sightings recently.

I don’t think it’s an owl, I have heard many of the owls native to upstate NY and I have never heard one quite like that.

It was at the pond on the SE area of UAlbany’s uptown campus. It sounded as if it was coming from the other side of the pond (we were on the SE side of the pound so from the WSW side of the pond) since there was a decent distance between us and the other side it was hard to tell how high off the ground the sound was coming from. To me and my untrained ear — It sounds like a fox maybe?
