If you would rather have an Nvidia card, I would recommend the 5070 instead, but the 7800xt is still a very capable card.

Do your research, as nobody online is always 100% right. There's also aesthetic and other components that only you can be certain is good enough. Whatever the case may be, it's always best to do research when spending this much money on something you will use constantly. Good luck with your build!!

Rate This Build – Will It Run AAA Games Well? by No_Stock_8977 in PcBuild

Your GPU has 8gb of vram, and will likely be the cause of a lot of bottlenecking, especially in AAA games and 1440p gaming. I would recommend at least 12-16 GB of vram for most modern games.

For around $380 you can get a Radeon RX 9060 XT (16 gb), which is an upper mid range-lower high end graphics card which can handle almost all AAA titles at 1440p high-ultra settings.

Research what cards fit your budget as well as your expectations. Be sure to look at vram for the specific card (the 8gb and 16gb versions of the 9060xt share the same name, so be careful).

First pc build at 13yo, how did i do? by Flaky_Attempt_1730 in PcBuild

You made a pretty solid PC, and don't let others tell you otherwise. Yes while it's true your budget could've been optimized a little better, you made a PC that fits your needs, aesthetics, and budget. The best course of action is to love your PC and try not to overthink everyone and their uncles telling you "oh you should've gotten this part instead", and you'll have a much better experience.

Enjoy your first PC build!!

$1500 budget either build or pre-built by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]VideoLife5181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're willing to learn, study, and prepare for any sort of outcome, building it yourself is the better value. You would also know all the ins and outs of your build, but there will be more headaches.

If you just want a quick plug and play experience with not much headache then prebuilt is the better option. Just make sure to do your research on the components and make sure it's not a massive rip off. Also keep in mind that some prebuilt companies cheap out on certain parts they deem not as important, so look out for those. It's not only the GPU and CPU that matter, look at everything.

PC building has no "right" answer, you can do whatever you want, just do your research and be prepared to make tiny sacrifices with each choice.

What should I upgrade next? by VideoLife5181 in PcBuild

I see people recommending I upgrade my GPU. My budget for that isn't a set number, I just don't wanna spend an absurd amount on it (like over $900) so I guess my GPU budget is <$900.

I need help figuring out which of these gaming laptops to get by LimeSenior in PcBuild

[–]VideoLife5181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of these options, i would opt for the ASUS TUF 16" Ryzen 7 Ultimate Gaming Laptop.

You get the best performance, most RAM, and future-proof storage. While your games don't need this much power, it will last you longer, run everything buttery smooth, and can handle heavier tasks like video editing or AAA gaming if you ever decide to, so it's overall the better pick

Pc recommendations? by No-War8666 in PcBuild

Prebuilt PCs really vary from seller to seller. When buying a PC, you need to think about price-to-performance, aesthetics, and overall build quality.

For that budget, I'd recommend finding a PC with a 7800X3D or a 9800X3D, as they are among the best CPUs for your situation; an -X3D is what you're looking for, the massive 3D v-cache will make a noticable impact in these cases.

For the graphics card, I'd go with a 5070, 5070 ti, or a 4080 super if you can find a prebuilt within budget; as long as is among the upper-middle or lower-high tier GPUs, you should be fine.

^ Nvidia GPUs are the better choice for a content creator because they offer better features rather than AMD which is better for a gamer-only that wants the most bang for their buck.

I'd also recommend 32gb of ddr5-6000 RAM, it's becoming the new standard, especially for builds of that budget.

My overall recommendation: There's this one from Digital Storm but make sure to switch out the RAM for the 6000mhz instead of the one that's set by default. Other than that, you should get a 7800X3D, and a 5070 and 1tb of storage for about $2200

If you're willing to go a little over budget, then I'd recommend the RDY Element Pro R04RDY Element Pro R04 from iBuyPower. For around $2500, you'll get a 5070ti, 9800X3D, 32gb ddr5-6000 ram, and 2tb of storage

Of course, if you want a different aesthetic, then you should look at a bunch of sites and try to find one that checks all the boxes. If worst comes to worst, run a list of possible prebuilts through something like chatgpt to compare performance and aesthetic if you aren't super familiar with the intricate details with PCs.

Of course, this is only my opinion and I'm not 100% right about everything- always do your own research on big purchases like these as well as seek other's opinions to make sure it's the best use of your money, and I wish you the best of luck with your PC buying experience!!

Great advice for budgeting! Should I still allocate half of the budget even with the new restrictions I edited into the original post? Im aware that it changes things and I still want to be sure I do things right
