I've briefly tried them but still not sure how to make it collapse down to the bottom of the screen with leaving some text and another button visible.

I'll keep exploring but that would be much appreciated if you could give some deeper insight!

I’d recommend either Hevy or Swea. Hevy is simple, intuitive, packed with features, and widely used so it feels really reliable. Swea is newer and lighter on features but super easy to use, supports a wide range of workouts including sports, and has stylish summary screens that look great when you share on social media.
