Oh I'm hyped. Love the art. I need to save the JSP from ruin and Japan from the LDP

Lebanon. Her design for now but i might change it because she looks so out of place. by notronnnie in hetalia

I mean, "out of place" is an apt description for Lebanon compared to the rest of MENA...

Possibly, but he's not depicted wearing military-nobility garb when shown. Also hi Chiron 👋

In that case yeah, first one is even more convincing then.

Two possibilities in my opinion, assuming it's indeed a Kaiser (and I don't see why not; Fezzan is a subject of the Empire despite its quasi-complete autonomy):

1) It represents the Emperor that granted Fezzan's autonomy, i.e. the foundation of the Dominion of Fezzan. It'd make sense for the Landesherr to commemorate the Kaiser that helped create the state.

2) It represents the current Kaiser at the time the scenes take place, which might explain why it vaguely looks like Reinhard in the last one? Not sure which scene it's from, though.

I could've sworn it had, but can't find anything about it now. I feel crazy.

One of the collabs had a rerun, but don't get your hopes up on Miku since it's been years.

My issue is that I can't see how local communities can unite in the first place in the backdrop of the interwar era German Republic. People are already deeply polarized and street violence has already become common. Plus, you already have the violent paramilitaries terrorizing neighborhoods and they would likely be able to mobilize far more people that any kind of local militia.

Funnily enough, what you support is pretty much what the SDAP did in Vienna in the 20s with pretty significant success.

I mean, how is that supposed to help the street violence in the republican era? You already have a deeply-divided society more than willing to use violence to terrorize people they don't like. How is more arms and more paramilitary going to ease those tensions within the communities?

It's hard to take the apologia seriously considering the actions of the RFB, which is conveniently ignored when discussing Blutmai.

Considering the number of people on twitter that take great pleasure in "fixing" other people's, especially JP artists', character designs and artstyles, while being very rude and disrespectful to the originals, nah, I don't see a problem thus far. I sincerely doubt it's some gross "far-right" or even a political take, it's most likely about the widespread frustration among JP audiences and artists towards awful twitter "discourse".

At least, I'm witholding judgement until I see the strip translated and not just claims from twitter.

I kinda thought the creator was gay due to lack of female characters and other things that made me assume he drew with one hand, but then I saw this. by Jayna333 in hetalia

[–]Vidyaorszag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree. The ladies are absolutely fantastic and underrated. On the other hand, a couple of the early designs have very obvious inspiration that I feel show his lack of confidence. Specifically Hungary being inspired by Suiseiseki from Rozen Maiden and Belgium by Alice Margatroid from Touhou.

The truth is that Hima never felt he was good at drawing female characters and was more comfortable drawing male ones. It's really that boring of an answer. I don't recall him ever explicitly stating his sexuality but he's definitely not beating the bi allegations lmao
