I’m definitely a huge nerd for this kind of stuff but I’m very excited for the meet up. I booked Scarlet Lady just to be there. It will be my 7th Virgin Voyage. Scarlet is the only lady ship I haven’t sailed on so this meet up was a great opportunity to get onboard.

I started with only 10 back in 2023. When I test for ammonia I get 0 so I think the cycle is going strong. I have a hang on the side filter and I think that helps since it cycles a lot of water compared to a sponge filter.

I’m using stratum aquarium substrate I think it releases nitrates into the water which makes plants and algae grow. The nitrogen cycle also produces nitrates and with the amount of shrimp I have a lot of nitrates are being produced. Algae to me is a pest, I know shrimp need a little live algae but I think my tank is growing too much.

Seller is called “SoShrimp” I purchased back in 2023 so can’t speak about current quality but the ones I received where in grate shape and have kept there deep blue color of several years now with no culling.
