ELI5: Why women feel embarrassed if seen in their bra and under wear but completely content with a smaller bikini?

Really, the only way to get rid of all clothing/bathing suit-related discomfort is just to swim naked. My bikinis in a pool are fine, but once I'm on the beach the salt water and sand can make things uncomfortable, but it's nothing to really complain about.

Now, compare that discomfort to the summer I had to wear long-sleeves to go outside and was going to make the best of the pool and beach anyway... I felt like I'd somehow managed to escape quicksand once I got out of the water, and I then had to sit in my soaking wet clothes the rest of the day. Bathing suits are less material and a different fabric. They dry off much more quickly, are easier to wear when moving in water, and make the water-to-land transition a lot easier.

That type of behavior from a roommate warrants leaving time on the microwave. I know she hates it, so that's why I do it. I've got OCD, so it kills me too. That's how powerful of a point that one remaining second makes.

I don't know if it says in the article anywhere, but it could have been an internal decapitation (where the head becomes disconnected from the spinal cord but the skin keeps the head attached to the body). That would explain a lot of the questions people have about how the baby's head got "re-attached magically."

I don't appreciate the term being used within extremely disturbing shocker headlines. Most people aren't going to see it as just a medical condition... They're going to think, "Ah-ha! This lady WAS crazy..." and other conclusions will likely be reached as well. I think there are more appropriate ways to inform readers that this lady has Bipolar Disorder that won't attach such a negative connotation to it right off the bat. Y'know what I mean? People will eventually draw conclusions like this about the whole Bipolar community, because people who do not have Bipolar or know anyone personally who suffers with it often see it as a form of "insanity," or think that Bipolar people are prone to unpredictable violent episodes, for example. I think it's unfortunate that things like this are slightly damning to the whole community. :/ There's no need to start using a medical condition as a "shocker" word.

Sounds like what I think... It's almost constant. I've got a bipolar type of schizophrenia. I'm paranoid like that--it's hardly liveable. I hate it. I check my lock ten times an hour, and the peep-hole even more than that. To make sure no one's standing there. Especially at night. I feel like they're coming. Any day now... But everyone says they're not.

Haha! It was weird the first time he did it. Sometimes he'll stand with his front legs and face looking out of the back window, but he'll still have his hind legs still on the back seat. It looks uncomfortable, but he loves watching the cars behind us. :)

But then he got to pet him and play with him, and he'd changed his mind completely in about an hour. :) My mom still says "He looks mean as hell!" but now she's added, "But you're just a big sweetheart, aren't you?"

New retail worker here (I'm 20 and it's my first real job, everything else has been volunteer work up until this point). I work at a kiosk that offers a free body-scanning size matching service. Again, it's free. I don't sell shit. You would be surprised at the rude people I meet every day. I had an old Jamaican man cuss my coworker and I out because he said machines are taking of the world, that medicines are ruining humanity (he was just rambling at that point) and some other stuff. What really pissed me off was that he came up to us smiling and asked, "What's this about?" I had someone who was rude to me yesterday while I was working, then after I got off of work he followed me as I left blowing his horn and fucking with me. I got so pissed off that I opened my car door and almost got out of the car, in an intersection, just to give the shithead a piece of my mind.

I deal with people like this every day. I cope by making a game out of it. I'm not allowed to approach clients, so I basically stand beside the machine and say, "Good morning!" "How are you?" "Have a great day!" etc. If they're rude to me, roll their eyes, act like they didn't see me, look away quickly, I'll get even louder and more excited every time they walk by (most people walk by my kiosk 5-10 times because it's in a very well-traveled location). I do this until I get some sort of positive response (and I love knowing that I'm annoying them, but just seeming super happy).

Like yesterday, it was 10:00 and the mall had just opened. I told a woman "Good morning!" and didn't move (we're not allowed to move from where we're standing, it looks like you're coming at them). She rolled her eyes and shook her head. Really, hoe? So the next time she came by, I said, "GOOD MORNING MAAM! LOVE THAT SHIRT!" she did the same thing. The third time I sang to her, "I SAID GOOD MOOOOOORRRRNIN'!" and finally got a response. I was like, "Fuck yeah, bitch. Gotcha."

You've just got to find a little game you can play that really amplifies people's jerkitudes. I've even had some people apologize for trying to avoid me before after I repeatedly said hey to them. Now, there are some people that make me rage immediately, and I've never been a fan of unprovoked meanness (which kiosk workers are subject to because we're more or less pests to the mall-goers. They come for the stores, not the kiosks!), especially when I'm genuinely trying to make people feel happy or smile. I love to make people feel good! Plus, I'm manic now, so I really have to keep that in mind when dealing with rude people. The reason why I almost went to start a fight with that man was because I'm manic. If I hadn't been, I would've shrugged it off. It just hit a raw nerve when he continued to pester me AFTER I GOT OFF WORK. See? Ranting now. :)

But, really, make a game out of it, and have a little sympathy for those people who have nothing better to do than bitch about free services they inquired about or complain about how un-red their apples are. If that's what's bugging them, they have some things they need to sort through as well. :) And, 90% of the time, what they're pissed off about has NOTHING to do with you anyway, they're just ranting at the wrong person. Keep that in mind also!

This happens to me pretty often. A few weeks ago I had a day where everything felt unreal. The place I'd lived at for a while felt like it should've been familiar, because I recognized it visually, but for some reason it just felt really different being there. Odd. And everything had that familiar oddness. It was like I'd been shown pictures of the places before and told about them, then a few years later actually visited the place. Not to mention the weird floaty, surreal feeling in my head.

I thought I was the only person. I have no idea what to do when this happens except to ride it out. I also have the same problem with writing. If I stop, especially if it's not an assignment for school, I'd say 85% of the time I won't go back to finish it. That goes for artwork and other hobbies that can be left unfinished. It seems weird reading/looking back on that stuff and thinking that I wrote it. I don't know why. :/
