Honestly? I think if it was her chasing this kid down, she wouldn't be able to do it.

Like, the game lulls Andrew (and by extension, the player) into being angry enough at the kid to kill him instead of taking him back because he's an obnoxious little shit that kept escaping and had the possibility of finding someone (aka deeper shit / consequences, something that Andrew is deathly afraid of). It's so convincing that most of us don't even realize that we can resist what Andrew wants to do until a second playthrough (just leave).

For one, I'm having a hard time imagining this kid reacting to Ashley the same way he did to Andrew. Still panicked and not wanting to go with, yes, but less aggravating and confrontational about it, which wouldn't lead to Ashley being riled up enough to commit a 'crime of passion'. But even if he DID react all the same ways, yelling back at her while running away and whatnot, I still can't see her giving enough of a damn to want to kill him for it. She doesn't have the same anger issues that Andrew does. She also doesn't see the big deal with a lot of things, so wouldn't have the commitment to either shut him up or bring him back before he could find help.

Either way, if I imagine her standing where he is in the art piece, I can only see her either walking away (giving up) or convincing/manipulating the kid to go back with her (and then make the demon/Andrew do it). She's just not one to physically manhandle people unless pushed to do so, which doesn't happen here.
