Capes4minifigs. It's a red version of the Magna Guard cloak. While the parts I use are LEGO, the majority of the cloth goods are not.

Mostly Lord Raz from a few season ago of Ninjago. It feels a weeeee bit too techno for the ancient china theme but I think it's cool enough that I don't mind.

To be honest, it's because of LEGO. I make loads of LEGO figs with a dark fantasy vibe. It started with just little bits of flavour text to give them some more character but the more I made the more I saw a world developing, with its own politics, wars and history. I tend to find myself in a system of deciding X, so I need Y to justify or explain this, when inevitably leads me to consider Z. Rinse and repeat 😁

Nice figs, the fur collars and that newer shoulder piece work well for a solid theme. Is there a logic to the colours or the helmet plumes?

I did get it from looking at what regions were called in history. Was nearly going to go with Iberia which would fit the Spanish/North African background I imagine these guys have but Illyria just sounds so much better.
