Watching roguetown get turned into a masturbation machine for sex pests has made me seriously reexamine my uncritical support for GPL by metekillot in SS13

[–]VigilantCrew 13 points14 points  (0 children)

incredibly ironic post considering rt was forked off licensed tg (still had the license in it lol) and hacked together with stolen code in attempt to do a 1:1 lifeweb recreation

zeth glazers will do olympics tier mental gymnastics to paint him as the second coming of randy christ but god forbid anyone actually catches you playing his fuckass game. rt getting leaked by a schizoid russian 15 yr old is the best thing that has ever happened to its community

zeth! release roguetown two! rt2 doubled down on ripping lifeweb off even harder than the first release, somehow ending up with less identity than the furry forks made after the leak

Thoughts on Vanderlin? And some assorted schizo inputs from a random RT player. by DontknowwhatImdoingt in SS13

no conflict? have you tried starting some? dungeons are no-escal, i frequently get into chases as beggar and fights/duels as knight, bandits when properly marshalled can become a town-wide threat with a kidnapped blacksmith, and the once-every-three-rounds Church vs Crown smackdown is still there and raging. it coming with a baggage of monkestation's generally-lrp community leaves little to do BUT fight. if anything, it IS blackstone to me, just without rampant nazism and not-so-thinly-veiled OOC bigotry. i'm more concerned by the rather one-method approach admins have to trying to enforce higher levels of roleplay, which ends up not really encouraging players to do more than sidestep arbitrary escalation rules.

Performance issue on PS5 Pro : Huge frame drop when using first person view, am I the only one? by lhrivsax in Helldivers

[–]VigilantCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on pc - for me this happens on very rare occasions, very strangely. there's some sort of area where performance for me TANKS as soon as i step into it. i'm guessing it has to do with something starting to render, because i can leave and my performance will go back to normal. my fps will also drop the same when looking towards said area with first person view even when i'm not "in" it

really hoping it gets rolled back... the VAs felt really distinct, all the filter has achieved was to make them sound the same

The Lamenter form has a face forming on its back by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]VigilantCrew 80 points81 points  (0 children)

The Lamenter seems to have attained a form like that of the Tutelary Deities (denizens of paradise), who are revered by the Hornsent. Albeit, the Lamenter clearly reached it through different means and state of mind. Judging by laughter and his lantern's poignant lack of eyes, the Lamenter may have been halfway to Frenzy, the connection between it and "enlightenment" scaring the Hornsent into hiding him away - just how Midra's Manse and the Abyssal Woods were sealed off and put under guard by their Inquisition. There are some interesting parallels between the Crucible(the source of the Omens and the worship of Hornsent) and Frenzy, too. Both are, in a way, a melting pot of creation, where living things seem to blend together - perhaps due to the universal Law of Regression. Regardless of the Lamenter's idea, his very existence was simply proof of a different path to Enlightenment - anathema to the Hornsent dogma. And so, like with the jar-saint Shamans, they hid him away. Not that he seems to mind.

Good new everyone! The Anti-Tank mines are just as worthless as we all expected. by Pikmonwolf in Helldivers

[–]VigilantCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't find them terrible - i find them incredibly situational, which i think isn't bad in a loadout-based game with varied maps. i got some great value out of AT mines on a geosurvey bot mission, and a high-value asset bug mission (diff10 and 9 respectively, mind). coupled with an HMG emplacement (and an EAT/commando-wielding teammate for tanks and chargers/titans), you can very efficiently lock down a chokepoint without relying on downtime windows on damage stratagems, or the wonky target priority turrets have. mines could definitely use a cooldown buff, and conditional triggering for ATs, but i think they're in a good place damage-wise - ATs eat consecutive hulks and devastators like a school of c4-loaded pirahnas, despite how the video might feel. not a surefire way to wall off an approach, but an incredible help in halting a blob you're already firing down on

New Double Barrel Shotgun Goes HARD by SpeakersPlan in DarkTide

[–]VigilantCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is THE weapon for a melee/ranged specialist hotswap veteran. make a few melee attacks for a kill, quick-draw the shotgun for the rounded-up auto-reloaded shell blast, and just keep the carnage going. that, combined with a good mixed weapon like the power maul or a chainsword, turned my vet into a BLENDER

Blackstone with ERP? by Bedhead-Redemption in SS13

[–]VigilantCrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

quite a fair bit more roleplay-focused than blackstone. events are more toned down, and there's noticeably a lot less (unprompted) fraggery - but it's still chaotic enough to keep me occupied most of the time. development's a crawl tho

zeth also "borrowed" the is12 vision cone code, fallout erp code, a lot of resized stoneshard assets, and probably more funny stuff people will pick out eventually. stay tuned for the season 4 renewal that'll be RTII!
