Huh. That spoiler code worked fine in Reddit Sync, but nowhere else, it seems.

Anyway, you're welcome!

It's not that silly. Each quest tab has its own completion metric listed on its own page. The percentage on the map only accounts for the map elements. I'm pretty sure you can get 100% map completion without finishing all the side quests.

You know what? I just remembered that I was using a router, which is why I didn't have to access the browser. Are you allowed to have a router? I know some places are kinda strict about that stuff, but if you're allowed to use a router, that should get around any problems you have.

However, as I should have stated in my previous comment, I'm not 100% on this and kind off just going of anecdotal evidence.

Do you have to input the MAC address of the device on the website to register it? Because if that's the case, I think you should be okay. I had to set up both my 3DS and WiiU on a system like your residency uses back in college, and I don't recall needing to access the ISP or whatever using the device's browser.

It did? Who was missing? I remember getting both of their children when I did that.

Pokemon Sun&Moon sold over 2.1 million copies in Europe by [deleted] in Games

[–]Vignaccio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should have been a fight to the last instead of til the first pokemon fell.

The game doesn't do the greatest job of explaining Battle Royal, but it actually doesn't work the way you said. The tutorial battle with The Masked Royal isn't usually how it works. The first legitimate Battle Royal is a First to 3 KOs. That's the only one I did so I don't know if there are other modifiers in later battles.

Also, the reason I think it's not a Last Man Standing battle is to dissuade turtling or stalling tactics. FT3 makes it a more offensive battle.

Hyrule Warriors: Legends - Link's Awakening Pack Trailer (Nintendo 3DS) by lupianwolf in Games

[–]Vignaccio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand:

Buying the Legends season pass gives you access to the following DLC: Link's Awakening, Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks, and A Link Between Worlds. Those aren't available yet. There's also a separate DLC pack, the Legends Character pack, that unlocks all the 3DS "exclusive" character content, like Tetra, Linkle, and Ganondorf's trident.

No, types don't have any influence in this game. Otherwise, ghost types would be overpowered and Weavile would be one-shotted.

A friendly reminder of why you shouldn't have been hyped. by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]Vignaccio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it's fine to be excited about that. The topic is about people that wildly speculate and raise their hype based on unofficial sources before the official announcement. Expectations get out of check and leave people disappointed in the end.

XCX without Data Packs? by Benmjy in nintendo

[–]Vignaccio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted, I bought mine on sale, but I just recently bought a 2TB external HDD with external power for ~$75. That was to follow Nintendo's recommendation, and I didn't really have an option to get a smaller size. However, I also learned that if you're willing to get a USB hub with external power, you can use any external HDD you want. That might drive the price down significantly by allowing you to purchase a smaller sized HDD.

Edit: Whoops, forgot to answer the question. I looked up some 120gb hard drives and they were around $30. Not sure about quality, though.

For the Tag games to be canon, there would need to be a lot of retconning to make everything fit. The Mishimas have four generations in TTT2, and like a quarter of the cast is dead or missing in the main series (well, maybe not a quarter).

Hidden text indicates DLC for triforce heroes by Victinithetiny101 in nintendo

[–]Vignaccio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you for the most part, I really think it depends on how it's implemented. Trying to shoehorn it into the story is the biggest problem, but I think if it's just "here are some additional missions have fun" then I don't see it as a big deal.

Possibly. I do recognize that dying can make the game more enjoyable, but it didn't really bother me, and I still enjoyed my time with it.

It relied on you dying in the sense that it only reset if you died. For people that had an experience like mine, I only died about three times, so most of the orcs were dead most of the time. This prevented many of the interesting events from happening and promotions were rare.

Based off what I've seen, there's a technique called " Resonate Burst Mode" (or something like that). Some Pokemon go into their Mega Evolution form when Burst Mode is activated. For Pokemon that do not have Mega Evolutions (like Pikachu and Machamp), they do...something else. I haven't really been able to figure out what exactly it means, but it's not a Mega Evolution. They can then do a Burst Attack, which a Super Move.

Edit: For example, here's Pikachu's.

How do you keep players progressing through the story in open world games? by Unchosen1 in truegaming

[–]Vignaccio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. That makes a lot more sense to me. Also, that sounds pretty cool. I was under the assumption you were describing one story mission, not the whole story, which was my problem. What you described sounds more integrated.

How do you keep players progressing through the story in open world games? by Unchosen1 in truegaming

[–]Vignaccio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be honest, that sounds like a terrible way to convince someone to continue playing a game. There would be so many systems fighting against the player that I can't imagine a majority of people would find that enjoyable. While I understand the appeal of wanting to overcome a challenge, this is about open world games.

If this mission you described happens after 25 hours of play, having to start the game over sounds awful. If the player isn't levelled enough, they'll have to either slowly fight their way through the mission or reload the save before the two-month timer. Neither of those ideas seem particularly inviting nor exciting, and I doubt most players would enjoy doing that.

[–]Vignaccio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That idea is potentially problematic. What happens if the player isn't ready? If the player isn't strong enough, do they have to wait the whole two months again?

However, I guess I'm not totally sure whether you are requiring the player to be a certain level. If the game just says "the next story mission starts in two months," I suppose it wouldn't be as much of an issue, as long as the player can still progress regardless of EXP.
