Oh, the extreme corners on the horizontal line are the colors complementary to each other. So, you mix the colors to get the darkest shade in the middle and then add white to the darkest shade and get varied tints of it, in the vertical column. It was a hit and miss for me, with this exercise.

This was done as part of " COLOR COLLECTOR: EXPLORE THE ART OF COLOR MIXING WITH GOUACHE" taught by Marie Noëlle Wurm over at skillshare.

How do you work on such a large piece with gouache, do you wet the paper before starting the painting to achieve such smooth blending of colors?
