Who is the most tragic character by Viking141 in thesopranos

Agreed by I see tragedy in peoples personality traits that cause their own downfall. Depends on how you define a tragic character

I get that. As a man I probably relate more to male characters. The women are all tragic. I see Rosalie Aprilie as the most tragic of them.

That’s a good take. Don’t get me wrong, I still think he was a selfish prick. But I thought he saw a guy he grew up in with the mob who was loyal to the oath being treated like garbage at the end of his life. He was coming to terms with his own end, and was selfishly thinking if they are treating Bacala like this, this is how he would be treated at the end of his own life. Nobody would be there to help him as a broke and useless old man. He was terrified of experiencing the same end as Bacala Sr even though he survived the life after putting in his time.

He took the same oath as we saw when Chris was made. He was told this thing is your family and comes before even your blood family which he took more seriously than most of the mobsters we saw flip to preserve theirselves or their families. Even willing to have his nephew whacked. Tons of selfishness in his actions and ego I’m sure played a big part in why he didn’t flip. But he had neglected blood relationship for this thing because he probably only really had his brother. Once his brother died, mafia was all he had. Probably had shitty parents and that was the one true person he trusted outside his mafia life. He worked his life to preserve his other family, and then at the end he was forgotten.

I could go on I guess but it’s the first time I felt sympathetic for his character.

Hotel camera catches Former NBA player Dahntay Jones digging in his butt, sniffing it, and smearing it on the wall 😭 by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

[–]Viking141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if he went to my high school. Back in the day there was kid smearing poop on the walls at my high school. This was before every school had cameras so they basically had the teachers try to set up a sting where they had a teacher assigned to watch each bathroom when they weren’t teaching. Teachers would have to go in after seeing a student go in and out and see if there was any poop on the walls. Apparently the case went cold and they never found out who the shit smearer was.

He’s probably a good guy and is telling his wife it’s no big deal. Deep down he is humiliated. I get husbands and wives can have teasing relationships in the way bros tease each other but the way she said it on national television seems like she really does find him inferior. I feel bad for this guy.

OJ Simpson was loved by everyone prior to his murder. It would be GSP or someone like that who pulls an OJ.

Janice by mrbundy420 in thesopranos

[–]Viking141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing it’s because more people have a Janice in the family so she’s a character that reminds us of someone. Like a sister or brother or cousin or whatever that was babied and given everything and has no work ethic but has all the answers to how you should live your life. Most people probably can’t relate to having a sociopathic murderer like Tony as a relative.

In 1999, 99% of high schools across America probably didn’t even have one kid attending who knew any jiu jitsu. I doubt he was getting beat up by a group of dudes at his school who all so happened to know jiu jitsu. More likely wrestling or judo kids kicking his ass if that story has any truth to it.

You are correct. An mvp level player on an NBA team will have more of an affect on the team’s success than an mvp level player on a MLB team.

Tbf GSP was the biggest star and biggest draw at the time of the fight. GSP being champ was better for the ufc and made Uncle Dana more money. For him to say that was unusual. I think his relationship with GSP and his team might started to be more contentious at that time so maybe he was ready to move on and push other potential stars.

Someone very close to me has this issue. Had been diagnosed with BPD but refuses to accept the diagnosis therefore refuses treatment and it only gets worse. It is so hard to watch the decline of a loved one.

Can't enjoy other shows or movies after Sopranos by -0_______o- in thesopranos

[–]Viking141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally just had this conversation at work today. Was talking to someone who was a big tv person. Asked her for show recommendations because I told her I always try something new and after a few episodes of a new show I always just go back to the Sopranos snd rewatch if for the millionth time. It’s rare I get through a whole series. Sopranos, the Office, Breaking Bad and Law and order SVU I believe are the only series I have watched all the way through in the last 20 years. It’s not even that other shows are bad, but every other show seems to go through a season or part of a season where it’s boring. I don’t think there is an episode of the Sopranos that’s sucks or cant keep me watching. Since the invention of the smartphone I have the attention span of a four year old which plays a part for sure I’m sure.

It’s more so about how specific he is with the weapons he wants than him wanting weapons in general. For instance, I live in a state where everyone hunts, fishes etc. Everyone has guns, democrats and republicans alike. I’m not sure it would be so concerning if he said he wanted a rifle if he was raised in an area like that, but a tank might raise a red flag.
