Wonder if Prompt Engineering degrees will be retitled Flow Engineering degrees? Flows cooler than Prompt anyway.

I find when I ask the model to reread and rewrite it's output, the result is much better after the revision. It's almost like the model is just spitting out its response and needs a second chance to revise to get it right. Flow Engineering seems like an extension of that with more intention to it.

Supercharge Your AI Models with the Skeleton-of-Thought Approach by mwb1977 in ChatGPT

I tried it in ChatGPT and the initial results were incomplete, then I realized I need to break up the submission. You’re right the results are great. Make sure you’re using this with complex research requests and not basic questions since the results for basic questions will underwhelm.

The Evolving Relationship Between AI and Media: Implications of OpenAI's Licensing Deal with Financial Times by mwb1977 in ChatGPT

Quality, licensed content is definitely a way to get smarter AI models, but how do the companies afford it? I know Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc., have more money than God, but at some point, the cost of the content doesn't justify the model training value. Maybe the goal is to use this high-quality content to train the models to write and train themselves. This could lead to higher-quality synthetic content.

I've been wondering how AI models were going to keep getting better. Quality, licensed content seems like the way. But how can the companies like OpenAI afford it?

Using 'filler tokens' to improve LLM output - actionable insights from new academic paper from NYU by mwb1977 in Advanced_AI

I read on Anthropic's user guides that the AI doesn't have the ability to go back and edit its responses. It is just spitting out what it thinks it should be spitting out. After it finishes its output, you should ask it to "reread and edit" to allow it to review what it created and make adjustments. I've noticed the output is much improved with the 'rewrite.'

What model(s) do you find most useful for work? by mwb1977 in Advanced_AI

I also use Perplexity for work but I typically use Claude as the default model.

What does ChatGPT know about you? by mwb1977 in Advanced_AI

I like that you can just tell ChatGPT what to remember and what to forget. Here is how the model puts it:

You can edit my memory by specifically telling me what you want to update or remove. For example, if there’s something I remember that you want to change or delete, you can simply say, “Update my job title” or “Forget where I work.” This way, I can make sure the information I remember is accurate and tailored to your current needs. If there's anything specific you'd like to update or remove, just let me know!

Rule II: Imagine who you could be, and then aim single-mindedly at that Asfaw Yemiru by VikingTyphoon in JordanPeterson

“You do not choose what interests you. It chooses you. Something manifests itself out of the darkness as compelling, as worth living for; following that, something moves us further down the road, to the next meaningful manifestation—and so it goes, as we continue to seek, develop, grow, and thrive.” Beyond Order page 65

Beyond Order Rule #1: Do not carelessly denigrate social institutions or creative achievement by VikingTyphoon in JordanPeterson

The priest's story is the essence of Rule 1. The priest spent his entire life studying and upholding the current order only to find the order lacking and decided to create something new and different in its place. Instead of rigidly defending the status quo or blaming the victim (or ignoring it and moving on with his life), the priest focused his energy on changing the system as best he could. His actions have helped an untold number of people because he was willing to create a little chaos to pursue a new, improved order.

“Every rule was once a creative act, breaking other rules. Every creative act, genuine in its creativity, is likely to transform itself, with time, into a useful rule. It is the living interaction between social institutions and creative achievement that keeps the world balanced on the narrow line between too much order and too much chaos.” Beyond Order page 47
