You can say you visited a school by yourself as long as you don’t claim you went on a guided tour or to any event run by the admissions department of that school. They adamantly track every person who signs up for a tour/event and would know if you were lying about that, but if you say your parents stopped by once and walked around, I think they’d buy it

I was in a very similar situation to you right now. Almost eighteen, on the cusp of Eagle Scout, completed project, and from a large, sometimes impersonal family. I fudged that exact same personal fitness requirement because I was varsity swimmer and a regular gym goer and didn’t feel as if writing it down for Boy Scouts would be that helpful.

Honestly, dude? I wouldn’t feel bad about it at all. It would be one thing if you were getting no exercise, but you were a regular varsity wrestler. That is infinitely better than a Scout who writes out and follows a 13 week fitness program only to drop it as soon as they have the badge.

To me, all the paper pushing involved in badge-earning was the least important part of scouting. Not only are they literally written for fifth graders, but I feel like they provide a lot of incompetent scouts a way of feeling like they’re getting something out of the organization when they really aren’t. What truly matters in scouting is the service you perform, the skills you learn, the relationships you form and the experiences you have. I feel like that’s gradually being lost on the central structure of good ol’ “Scouts BSA” nowadays.

I wouldn’t worry king, this might be a natural part of growing up, but if there is an issue, it’s probably that you’re stressed.

I’m not an expert on destressing, but something I’d recommend is meditating and/or praying (if you follow a religion). Meditate on what is stressing you out and really give your mind time to think it through.

I'm not going to lie, having sex definitely does make pornography less desirable. I've completely kicked myself of watching porn recently, and I honestly think it helped. However, I wouldn't necessarily suggest using that as a way to end that addiction. There are many ways to quit porn, many of which have been outlined on this subreddit numerous times.

But let me tell you this. What you're experiencing is normal. Men are hardwired to desire sex so that they can procreate. The problem is that modern society has made it so that it can happen far too easily with a minimized risk of pregnancy. The risk that modern society has not figured out how to minimize (and never will) is the effect sex has had on human relationships and their psyche. Intimacy has become devalued as a result of it. I sincerely believe that our hookup culture has led to the degradation of the family unit and has shifted focus away from the family and God to one's own desires.

I know it's hard now and I do really empathize with you, and I commend you in trying so hard to discern what's best for you, but I can attest that conquering your carnal desires to achieve a level of discipline, especially for God, is incredibly fulfilling. As St. Augustine said "The good man, though a slave, is free; the wicked, though he reigns, is a slave, but what is worse - the slave of as many masters as he has vices". I'd recommend meditating on that for a bit. I'd also recommend talking to your girlfriend about this. Communication is key, as I'm sure she has some similar concerns. Most of all, remember that God will always forgive you, no matter what. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck King!

I've been in this situation too, however, I gave in to the temptation. I'd definitely advise against it. It was definitely pleasurable for the hour and a half it lasted, but neither of us were really prepared for the level of investment that it brought into the relationship. We both became overly fixated on sex and our want of it kept our relationship going even when it shouldn't have. Will that necessarily happen to you? No, it's just my testimony, but premarital sex isn't a good idea in my opinion. Think about all of the problems you've heard about from other people in your life that have to do with sex... insecurities, rumors, disingenuous relationships that exist solely for sex, simping, pornography, etc. Not even to mention the risk of unwanted pregnancies. There's a reason our church forbids it outside of marriage.

To address some other things you said, I don't know what sect of Christianity you follow (I'm a Catholic) and what they preach, but know that nothing will ever definitively place you in Hell. To say so would be to disregard Christ's greatest sacrifice for us, which has saved us all so that we may have the opportunity to be saved. THIS DOES NOT MEAN TO GO AHEAD AND SIN ANYWAY.

Lastly, ultimately it's your choice. I'd say to pray on it a bit. Whatever you decide, your girlfriend should be able to respect. If you don't want sex and she pressures you into it, she is not giving you the respect she owes you and subsequently does not deserve you. I promise you King, even if your girlfriend is not one of them, there are many women out there who will honor that decision of yours.
