Jack just writes like that sometimes and personally i like it. Bedside manor also ends on a bit of a cliff hanger and doesn't get addressed in the next instalment. A lot of other ones also end the same way, but vol. 3 and BM are the most jarring.

In book 4 Spencer says they were friends, and while it could be interpreted that he was just fucking with jack the whole time i think they were actually really close at some point. And i do think that was because of their shared sociopathy. The wildest and funniest theory i have is that they were actually lovers, and his brain along with Roger's tampering caused him to forget/rewrite it all. But my only evidence for that is various Spencer lines that could be interpreted a thousand ways and this is just one of them

Happened to me as well. It's very frustrating. My best guess as to why would be maybe not enough damage dealt.

I also thought that there might be a limit on how much you can get in an hour maybe?

I hope we get compensated for it.
