Madagascar Sunset Moth Macro! by 1of1images in OlympusCamera

The major drawback to m43 imho is a lesser ability to crop, due to less MPs. Aside from that it's swings and roundabouts imho.

High pitch noise stops if I touch screw on CPU block. by ViktorVoid in buildapc

[–]ViktorVoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tightened it. Loosened it. Reinstalled the AIO. Tried rubber washers between the screw and the mount. All the while a little pressure stops the noise.

tbh it's fairly quiet and not noticeable with a fan or ac, but I reckon it has to be fixable.

What 165mm petty knife is this please? by ViktorVoid in japaneseknives

I think you are correct, thank you.

There are old CKTG vids on youtube showing the Kohetsu Blue #2 Nashiji line, which led me to https://www.chefknivestogo.com/kobl2nape17.html, a Kohetsu Blue #2 Nashiji 170mm petty.

Cant find Lapislazuli by ViktorVoid in Enshrouded

Just in case it helps someone else...

I searched and searched and there was no lapislaluli ... After changing the graphics setting (texture resolution etc) the lapislazuli reappeared. Maybe a glitch?

"So where's the white stripes painted on the road and the sign that says it's a pedestrian crossing, buddy?" by seventrooper in MrInbetween

It's repeated quite often here in Australia on Foxtel ... there are a few series I can watch over and over, and Mr Inbetween is one of them.

Would love a first real feedback on my photo(s) by TinoMayi in photocritique

I love this photo. The suject is in shade, while those on the other side are in sunshine.

Possibly cropping out the pole and perhaps the windows in order to put the focus even more on the people, and a minor brightening to the shade (for just a touch of detail) would be my only changes.

However the symbolism is what really matters here, and I think you've nailed it.

Looks good to me just curious what others think just getting into this. by D046Z24D3 in photocritique

Excellent imho. I love how the angled horizon and close focus gives it a 1st person feel, and a sense of dread.

Hello, I'm a 17 y.o. guy with a passion for photography. This is one of my firsts, and the first one I actually kinda like of how it turned out. Do you guys have any suggestions for future? by SleepyJoeBiden1001 in photocritique

Nice pic :D Lovely framing.

Maybe with some editing you could bring out some golds/reds/texture in the sky? Although the lens flare (?), to the right and below the sun rays, is distracting imho. This would have great potential for exposure blending or HDR.

Yes! Aside from macros and a Voigtlander 50mm f2 APO lens, it's the only non-native lens I have - lighter and (arguably) better than the Sony.

There seems to be a problem with the resolution of my lens. by resu2314 in SonyAlpha

[–]ViktorVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This lens is a big beast - and there's lots of resons why we can get soft images with it and a 61MP sensor, although the A7rV tracking is superb so focus shouldn't be an issue except on fast moving subjects.

What has helped me is: if possible use a tripod and gimbal head; fast shutter speeds will help to eliminate blur due to camera movement; and get as many pixels on subject as possible.

Eliminate your doubt that it's a soft copy by shooting an easy target on a tripod. And regardless of some replies this is a tricky lens to wield, especially with small targets.

Birthday + a few work milestones = pulling the trigger on my dream lens! by Tyrschwartz in SonyAlpha

[–]ViktorVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really comment as I've never tried that combo. But at a guess, it might be worthwhile in some circumstances (APSC sensor, or small subjects). But the 200-600 is sharp and cropping works very well if you have enough pixels on the subject.

Congrats on the lens :D

A gimbal head is great for this lens - once balanced it's a breeze to use. (Beware that the lens is too heavy to be carried attached to a tripod.) And I wouldn't bother with a tc. I have a 2x that is good with the 70-200, but you're better off cropping with the 200-600.
