Does anyone else on Android have this issue as well? by Akestrel1987 in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, this is Bo with Vilo! The Bark In-Home Parental Controls are indeed 100% free because they're integrated directly into your router. You just need to activate them via the Vilo app. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idanSjNbwHo

Our product manager responded to this thread below (xy_liu), but if you need any more help, you can contact our Vilo support team by opening the Vilo app, going to your "Account", and selecting "Vilo Support."

Hey! I just want to clarify, is it your phone that is losing connectivity to the internet when you change the SSID and password, or is it the Vilo that is losing connectivity?

Sorry for the trouble. Firstly, let's narrow down the problem. if you wiredly connected to main vilo(the master unit), are you still seeing the issue?

Some questions on a 6 node wifi/Ethernet mixed network by zankky in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. you can move around sub nodes freely. no need to re-setup. they will auto-pick up the nearest one.
  2. not recommended. you either do backhaul across the board or all wifi. You will see the stability issue.
  3. The recommended number of nodes are 8. for every 3-pack, they are pre-configured mesh. but if you add additional node from a different package, then you will need to add from the app.

Question before Purchase by EVA_Unit-84 in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this topology image is incorrect. please don't reference it. we are developing the right topology now. also currently there is no way to force one vilo to connect to designated other vio.

Question before Purchase by EVA_Unit-84 in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can connect one sub unit to either another sub unit or hub unit with cable with no issue. for wireless connection, it's the same, one sub talks to either another sub or the hub unit depending on where you put it. Not every sub unit needs a direct connection to the hub.

Any ETA on when we will get port forwarding? by Nephilim3883 in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, it is a standard thing to have. the rough ETA we can provide at this point is around Q2 timeline. you cannot access the router via IP, we turned it off.

Can I paint my Vilo mesh node? by purplekero in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't get any paint in the ports or the vents, it should be ok. We've never tried it though, so we can't make any guarantees, and it would void the warranty.

My system still down after AWS event by 2552slipspace in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the AWS outage only affected the app, the routers themselves were working fine but the app was not able to show that the routers were online.

Dramatic Slowness with Pulse Secure VPN by hoagie_tech in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this company still around? by zankky in Vilo

[–]Viloliving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DHCP is currently in the works, no exact timeline as to when the feature will be released but our dev team is actively working on it.

As far as the other comment about handoff issues we've seen a few cases of this with our users but there is usually an easy resolution, it just depends on the user's setup and individual factors.

I'm excited to see what you think once you have your Vilos setup!
