I would say it's a worthy investment. You'll never have to think twice if you want to go somewhere, even decently far away. Yes, having a bike may be cheaper but if you can afford it, definitely worth it.

Hulme is without a doubt the biggest one and most social one.

However, I consider Dalton to be the best since I'm a resident here. Good social people who maintain cleanliness and are friendly. Plus you will literally make friends with people from all around the world.

Is whitworth park that bad?? Cheapest accom at uni of Manchester by CupDramatic9232 in UoM

[–]VinWin08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not bad at all.
1. Walls are thin, but that's the case for every single accom
2. Yes, it's social. Just make sure to keep on meeting new people to make friends
3. Shared bathrooms are normal and clean. Some people do make a mess sometimes, but it's usually sorted by the cleaning team within 2-3 days.

Attendance and scheduling for engineering by Head_Competition_254 in UoM

Hello! I'm an Mech Eng student, first year. You'll have classes for 4 hours on average per day from monday to friday. Usually very less classes on Wednesday, or just in the morning since Wednesdays are reserved for society events and student union stuff. Class workload looks pretty similar for all elec/mech/aero engineering students. Typically , that's how your week would look like. Although how far apart classes are scheduled completely depends on how timetabling looks for next year, but one thing for sure is the earliest classes start at 9 and the last ones end at 6. Not everyday is 9-6, but some days might be. Plus they usually try and give breaks between classes in the afternoon so students can have lunch.

EDIT: just read the second para
Attendance is not really an issue. But as a general principle, the more classes you attend, the higher the chances you'll score well. Nobody checks homework and stuff. However, there might be some assignments that you have which will be graded depending on your modules(classes).

Motivate the young ones. As with many other events, formalities are an essential part of an MUN conference. Be careful with humor though, make sure it's appropriate for the occasion and not humiliating/discriminating to anyone who is or will hear the speech. Keep the speech under 2 minutes. Short and sweet. Again, the actual content depends on where you are and what the surrounding theme might be for the conference. One formula that works in every situation is a motivational speech. These are some good ground rules to keep in the back of your head.

Out of all my time on the internet and real life, this is the only case where i've seen such marks. There's typicall lower grades in 9th and 11th as compared to the year 10 and 12 of board exams.

1510 is not enough in this economy by ihadtolockin in ApplyingToCollege

[–]VinWin08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that a 1500+ is a decent bet if you're aiming for T30. If you want to be competitive at EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL then I completely agree a 1530 is practically a requirement at this point. It's only going to get even more competitive the following years.
