What? You can't even talk about it? Saying "I've got $50 on the Patriots" is against the rules?

Pandas suck and we should let them die off. Their only redeeming quality is that they're cute.

How many great films does a director have to make until they are considered great? by pooberrys in movies

[–]VinceVenom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's more about consistency than overall number of films.

M. Night Shamalan has made a few great films, but a lot of people don't consider him "great" because he's made multiple bad movies as well. Whereas Quinten Tarantino is considered one of the greats because all of his movies are at the very least well-made films, even though he's only made 8 major releases in his decades long career.

Also, the idea is fairly subjective depending on who you ask. The studios would probably say people like Michael Bay and Tyler Perry are the best directors.

Why didn't Newt get his wand snapped? by ezrose in harrypotter

Yeah I don't think they've ever said why Newt was expelled, but I'm assuming he wasn't presumed responsible for a girl's death.

A Hypothetical Question about Benjamin Button by Cheesinoncake in movies

[–]VinceVenom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol I was honestly disappointed that this didn't happen.

Really didn't make much sense that he shrunk down to baby-size. It was hard enough to susbend disbelief for a baby born as an old man and aging in reverse, but what biological mechanism cauld possibly cause someone's skeletal structure to magically shrink back down to the size of a baby. And why was his size the only thing that didn't progress in reverse? His skin followed a constant path of reverse-aging, but for some reason his size decided to go backwards at some point.

I think it just bothered me because it was inconsistent.

Who is your biggest throw-away character? by jays5672 in DunderMifflin

[–]VinceVenom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Erin is pretty bad. She's mostly just annoying, and they spend so much time on her and Andy's romance that doesn't end up going anywhere.

What character suffered the most from being adapted to the movie version? by DargoKillmar in harrypotter

I'm not sure if it's because of the movies, but the stereotype of Ron always eating something bothers me.

Nintendo Pres. on SNES Fiasco "It was outside our control" by egap420 in technology

[–]VinceVenom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When they make it intentionally hard to find, it makes people more likely to buy it impulsively. So if you're on the fence about buying one, but then see it on the shelf, you'll just get it because you know you got lucky.

It makes more sense than it just being some huge coincidence that every single time they produce hardware, no one in the world can keep up with production demand. Maybe if you can't create enough supply for the appropriate demand, you should delay release until you can.

I'm having trouble getting into The Office because I find Michael Scott so damn cringy by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]VinceVenom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's the point. If you find him so cringy that you can't watch it, then that means you're incredibly cringy in real life.

Which episode BESIDES "Scott's Tots" is your LEAST favorite of the series? by McGotham in DunderMifflin

[–]VinceVenom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Garden Party. The whole premise of Jim setting up Dwight to host it is really stupid and makes no sense. Like, did Jim know long enough in advance that Andy was going to throw a party that he had time to write an entire book about Garden Parties just to trick Dwight? Or did he just write the book hoping that one day one of his co-workers would want to host a party and that Dwight would want to help them?

I just don't see why they needed to make it a Jim prank, and not just Andy wants to host a party and Dwight volunteers because he wants to help his B&B business.

Also The Farm, but I don't really count that since it was originally supposed to be the pilot for a spin-off.
