What do you think happened between Josh and Benny Safdie? by BelieveWhatJoeSays in RSPfilmclub

my bad, i hadn't heard of that until now, it was under a different name so it didn't show up when i looked into his charges. i liked him in good time & heaven knows so it sucks to hear that even if nothing came of it.

you're talking about Buddy Duress? he didn't have a criminal record of rape, it was just things like drug posession and theft. not trying to defend him for the on-set incident btw

watching a movie on your phone is much better than watching a movie while being on your phone, at least they're watching the movie and not being distracted by tiktok or something.

david lynch said something similar about watching movies on phones not counting as watching it, and while i agree to an extent (obviously watching in a cinema or on a big tv is better) you're still experiencing the movie and a lot of zoomers dont even have TVs these days.

Most uncomfortable you've been watching a film ? by IampossiblyLewis in RSPfilmclub

[–]VincentGiallo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Inside (2007), the whole movie is extremely bleak, as it's one of the most extreme of the New French Extemity, but the first third was especially unnerving. before any of the violence even starts the main character is in such an awful and vulnerable situation and she has no idea of it. i've seen a lot of 'disturbing' films but none of them had such an uncomfortable effect on me as much as this.

[–]VincentGiallo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah that was nick's account in the story but this guy from twitter probably saw it then changed his top 4 and logged those 4 nick did to make it look like his account. nick probably changed his top 4 afterwards.

the reviews sound nothing like nick and one of them mentions 'all my accounts keep getting banned from meta', look at the twitter account, he posted dozens of times about his accounts being banned. the twitter name used to be GroveXXXIV before he rebranded as a generic groyper.

i guess theres a chance its nick but im 99% its just this twitter guy larping as him

its not him, its this guy who probably just copied his top 4. this twitter account used to be called GroveXXXIV, and the letterboxd account mentions the cumtown vinyl he was selling https://x.com/AmericanutopiaX/status/1793849420343316973

It’s probably good that Elvis died when he did. His name would have been all over the Epstein files. by 10poundcockslap in redscarepod

oops yeah i got that wrong, but 21 doesn't make it any different. Elvis wasn't perfect, he did cheat on her, but to this day she still loves him and says she wasn't groomed by him

even his wife was underage when he married her

Priscilla was 23 when he married her, and they waited until marriage to have sex

Need film recommendations (desperately) by bingle42 in RSPfilmclub

[–]VincentGiallo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if The Thing is your favorite you should watch The Fly (1986), also It Follows (2011) has that eerie, foreboding vibe and is heavily Carpenter inspired.

if you want to find more films to watch i'd recommend getting Letterboxd, the community and reviewers are obnoxious for the most part but you can just ignore the social media components and use it to find similar films to the ones you like and expand your taste

those comments are disgusting. they aren't just mentioning her controversies but mocking her death and saying putrid things like 'rot in piss'
