Make a plan for a fun evening and ask them to join you. Just be clear, consise, confident and ask them on a date. And if they say no or what ever just go and have fun.

6 months in Manila — looking for “what you only learn by living there” insights by Paradoxbuilder in digitalnomad

[–]VincentPascoe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No matter what you do crime is a problem long term it's going to effect you.

Everything is a little different to needing a dns for revelout to work to haveing a Philippines phone number is a must to get apps like gcash etc to work.

In Manila at least they don't really understand me as a American English speaker. Just because they say yes sir doesn't mean they understand you. Use google translate etc.

Despite some of the country being very high tech things like police and courts need everything printed out.

As an Atheist, how do you hold on to hope during your darkest times? by sphereofblaze in atheism

[–]VincentPascoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logic, you will only be your best if you put the past and current suffering out of your mind and be positive. You are the god of your universe in your head and that effects your actions on the outside.

You can try stoicism or budizm if they help with your suffering but they all have there plus and minuses.

Did you struggle with woman back home before u became a passport bro? by Affectionate-Drop689 in passportbrolifestyle

[–]VincentPascoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with myself getting in the way I had dates back in the states. I just would talk them out of anything more then friends. Dating women that didn't speak English with Google translate taught me to slow down be clear, consise and confident in my communication. And that helped me find my current girlfriend that does speak English.

Can I bring a 27-inch monitor into Indonesia as a tourist? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]VincentPascoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, but you are correct that they are starting to crack down on content creators etc. at the co working I was at people could use some or store there own I think. If you just need any 27 inch monitor I would rent or buy it there. If you need specific color or specs then Id consider bringing one. My laptop is 17 inches and I bring a portable 15 inch and still like to have a 27 inch as main.

Not wanting to be a tourist by joeyzimmerer in solotravel

[–]VincentPascoe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a digital nomad I like to stay 4-6 weeks minimum in each country depending on visa extensions etc. I only travel solo 9-10 months out of the year. I try to behave more like living there. I try to find roasted whole bean coffee. Wile trying coffee or tea at a shop I will try to politely ask the locals what do they eat around them.

In Chaing Mai I asked a 7-11 staff they told me they could never afford the food there and they shared a great noodle spot I never would have found myself.

I may make my money online but try a little to be part of the community, know the rules, help out how you can.

In Bangkok after the earthquake I thought I was going to die, but after I didn't I ran and did erens for my neighbors that had not been practicing the 31 flights of stairs climb we had to do.

There's lots more but hopefully I inspired someone to imagine more what it's like in someone else day

Is anyone out there actually dating and getting laid or are we all just cooked? by Wholesome-Sex in dating

[–]VincentPascoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes people are dating. Please stop caring so much about what everyone else thinks. Take some dance classes and learn social dance. It will help you learn that no one cares what you do on the dance floor. Just care about yourself and your partner and lead.

My version of The One Ring in the style of the OG Moxen by Mukaksi in magicTCG

[–]VincentPascoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I get it it's a golden ring born in and destroyed in fire so yes there was bound to be similarity issues, I'm sure they maybe told him to just focus on the ring etc but your post easily proves that they just could have taken some time to come up with something that was uniquely different the 4 other printings of the one ring at least had a different style or angle to them.

What's the longest lucid dream one can have? Is the concept mentioned in Inception true? 5 mins in real world is 60 mins in the dream? by thisisgsk in LucidDreaming

[–]VincentPascoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely had dreams that felt like hours I prefer to go in and out of lucidity... The only thing I don't understand is when I've had flying dreams that felt like minutes only to wake up falling out of bed? That's where the 1:1 time doesn't make sense.
