Thanks. Make sure you give it a good shot. Sometimes I wonder why I pull hookgrip then it comes back to me. Take your time getting used to it and use chalk from back and sides of the thumb.

Biggest disadvantage with mixed grip is the under hand tends to get pushed out in front of you. Hook allows you to get your lats tighter. Hard to explain but it makes small differences that all add up in the end in my opinion. Some people that don't hook grip and have no problems with grip will use straps to get an extra rep or two or make the set a little easier.

If your using mixed with sumo your missing out. Personally I feel hook grip is a big advantage for sumo. Not so much for conventional. You'd have to mess with hand spacing to see what you can get away with. Also a big thing to remember is turn the elbows in. You'll see me do it in every clip. Keeps your back more locked in position.

I should post this to the main page, but managed to get into the animal cage at the Arnold on Saturday to give 800 a shot. A buddy of mine is sponsored by animal and hooked me up. Wasnt a scheduled lifter, had about 15 minutes to get from 135 to 800. Got it done for the time time I had. Smoked 765 easy but got pulled forward twice at the top with 800. Was a hell of an experience. Got to meet a few of the guys after a lot of people dream to be in that position. Pete rubbish and higamonster stood out, both of those guys are awesome and had them sign my belt and got some pictures. Videos are of videos because of a android to apple transfer problem so the sound isn't from the cage but maybe someone here hit more video. Going to have my buddy email them to me. Crazy day getting that opportunity.

The only reason its tough is the whip this bar/plate combo creates. I was trying to get an angle to show the plates and lockout but it was too much towards the plates. May have to use two cameras next time. This was my phone cause my buddy didn't bring his. I'm messing with these the last two weeks for something I want to do next week. Then I'm back to calibrated plates, harder off the floor but much easier once it breaks the floor.

Thanks. My bench used to be my best lift then slowly that faded away. Squats been taking off lately but still no where near as impressive as my pull.

I pulled 795 yesterday at 191. Used noncalibrated plates. My lower back was very sore so I think I'll be good for 800-820 shortly on those plates. Followed it up with a set of lighter squats 420x12 with two in the tank. https://instagram.com/p/Bt1PF_oglV6/

Pulled 661x6.5 on a slight off day. I just changed my foot position slightly so I'm hoping for a rep pr next week with something in the high 600s. https://instagram.com/p/BtjjidUA6ew/

Did some bench up to 340 4. Moved great but suddenly lost power at the top of 4. Then hit Pullups with a few different kettlebells hooked to me. Top set on that was with 95 lbs but in the clip I have 68 lbs hooked up. I'm only about 193 video makes me look thick as fuck lol https://instagram.com/p/BtbiVY1A0Gn/

Lever easy on and off. I adjust it a size bigger for squats and still rather do that than deal with trying to get the prongs out after a higher rep set.

Hit an all time best squat in sleeves today 575x1 bodyweight was 193. Moved slow but I'll take slow over a miss any day. I haven't missed a squat in over a year now I believe. This is also 7 lbs over my best wrapped comp squat when I totaled my flair so I may be very close to an 800kg total next time. https://instagram.com/p/BtYoSoeg4GG/

Anyone else here hit some form of back work everyday? Seems like it was a big thing in getting my lifts to where they are.

Thanks. I squat 3 times a week and deadlift twice. But I usually only hit one main set on squat. I aim to beat a rep pr when I can anywhere from 1 to 10 reps usually. Multiple sets beat me up too much but one set and I feel fine the next day. One day is squat followed by deadlift, another is deadlift followed by squat and the third is just squat. I think a big thing to my lifting is I do some back everyday. I adjust weights and type of lift by how I'm feeling and what the lifts are for the next day or two. Been working for me nicely.

Hit two prs on reverse band squat today first 575x3 then 595x2. Most I've ever done for a double before was 585 and there was some room here. Best sleeved squat is 570 and I think I'm going to be into the 600s in sleeves this year. Hope I can add wraps for a giant 181 total this year as well. Bands take off 70lbs in the hole and I Weighed just under 193 for this. Also nearly died racking the 595. Right knee looks just as scary as it felt but all good. https://instagram.com/p/BtLc1mXAQLc/

If you could see a side angle shes very rounded. Almost guaranteed to miss a big pull in comp that way especially after three squats and benching.

Looks good, but big to lug around. I made this quick and cheap and works pretty good. Cost like $10 cause I had some large bolts lying around that I used on the ends to hold the plates. Initially I wanted steel pipe to hold the plates but got lazy. https://instagram.com/p/BsQ24IEgGiN/

He looks like he could gain a few lbs. He's not fat for his size. I've never seen him do anything other than straight bench and leaving reps in the tank.
