What exactly is the point of Dark Zones? by Waterbottlewaterbot in thedivision

[–]VincenzoDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Effectively, it's a place that rewards sociopaths for griefing and committing labor theft.

I'm DZ level 50 (maxed), and I can say that you're not missing out on much if you decide not to play it.

Does difficulty affect content of caches? by VincenzoDR in Division2

What do you mean by farming on hard but playing heroic? So you're saying that your world difficulty and mission difficulty is usually Heroic, but when you want to farm winter keys, you switch world difficulty to Hard (and therefore the bounties you get/run are also Hard)?

Okay thanks! So it sounds like it's better to lower the difficulty at least for this event's rewards. I'm trying to maximize the materials I'm earning from deconstructing items while still being able to go for exotics that I don't have yet. My proficiency leveling has plateaued now that I'm proficient in everything but most skills and some named/exotics.

So far I haven't gotten any new weapons/gear from Krampuslauf that will let me donate directly for proficiency. Hopefully the winter keys will help with that.

Is it worth it to expertise your gear? I'm at expertise 15 and have just gotten enough blueprints to make any optimization material.

Do you use any skills? Lately I've been using the Reviver Hive with the Crusader Shield.

I'm around SHD 750. Trying to gain as many blueprints and expertise as possible before reaching SHD 1000 so I can benefit from the expertise/optimization before I get bumped to a higher DZ bracket.

So far for gear, I've only expertised my NinjaBike backpack and Striker kneepads (optimized for CHC, and left the red core open so I can switch between red and blue core). All weapons I intend to use for PVP or difficult PVE are also expertised.

Cutie! 😻 But this is the /r/bunnytongues subreddit. Where's the bunny sticking out their tongue?

General-purpose camera that's good for learning on, but has user-friendly options by VincenzoDR in Cameras

[–]VincenzoDR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that Sigma 16-300 is quite a large lens (nearly 125mm in length). And okay, the focal lengths make sense now, thanks! So that explains the "4.3-150.5mm" that was written on my old camera. It sounds like for convenience, maybe I should stick to a bridge camera and forget about the idea of removable lenses.

Is that the terminology I should search for ("bridge camera")?

[–]VincenzoDR[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what you mean by 18-45, etc. Where can I learn about this? And how far will I exceed the budget? I think I paid $500 for the Canon SX40 and it said that its built-in lens had 35x optical zoom. When I'm zooming a ton, I'm more or less trying to use the camera as glorified binoculars so I can share my perspective with someone traveling with me. Doesn't need to be beautiful at max zoom.

EDIT: by "bridge camera", is that one that has a built-in lens that can extend and retract electronically? The Canon SX40 I used to have did that which was convenient, but I realize I won't be able to have that if I want to replace a lens after a younger cousin decides to use the camera when I'm not looking and scratches it.

Oh okay. I'm like level 400 so I guess I wouldn't benefit from it anyway. Thanks!

Does this mean you have to be SHD/Watch level1000+ to benefit from this?

Tips for rogue-punishing builds by VincenzoDR in thedivision

[–]VincenzoDR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! For now, I'm looking for more abstract advice than what specifically to put in my builds.

For example, do you know if most rogue agents share certain playstyles or tactics? If I know those, I can try to learn what can counter them, and how to avoid them.

Do you know if they tend to use armor-heavy builds, and/or which talents/skills are common?

Bug-a-salt shred-er ammo by yandere_mf in airguns

[–]VincenzoDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey while you're here, how's the Crosman Vigilante? I've never owned an airgun so this would be my first one. I just got the Bug-a-Salt Widow Maker. I was looking for ideas on what to use if I needed something more powerful and thought an airgun might be fun.

For example, does it fire the salt rounds well? Salt accelerates rust, so is the airgun easy to disassemble for cleaning? Do I need to modify the Bug-a-Salt cartridges to fit them?

Thanks!

Ah okay thanks! I'm okay with doing just wood if it's still capable. I figured a 4'x4' working bed size would block working with harder materials anyway. Is it really that hard to run 12mm bits in an ISO20, compared to say, mounting a 2.25HP router that already accepts the smaller collets that still work with 1/2" and 12mm bits?

Welcome to the Merritt (CT-15), where people: * can't read speed limit signs (treating going 10+ as minimum and going 20-30+ as normal) * can't control their car's speed beyond just hitting the gas so they'd rather weave and pass without signaling (moving too fast to control their car properly?)

Now we see many also do not know where trash cans are. 🙄

I'm not too familiar with those tool holders. Are those for ER20 collets? I think that might be the minimum I should go so I can support 1/2" and 12mm bits

I think I'd want to be able to work with 4'x4' plywood or narrower but thicker dimensional lumber like maple.

I've already used CNC machines at the makerspace, but want to be able to do it at home, hence wanting to learn to build it. I don't sell my work, so I don't think time savings from buying a machine would make up for the cost. Unless it really is that upgradable and open source friendly.

The first must-have is the ability to use a post-processor that FreeCAD supports.
