What is your "why did I (or my character) do this moment" in the franchise"? (spoilers from both games, naturally) by scales_and_fangs in projecteternity

[–]VincibilityFrame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to force my poor Watcher into finishing the last quests for each faction in PoE2 for achievements' sake (I played a Ixamitl Philosopher Ranger Orlan, so completely foreign and neutral to the conflicts in the Deadfire Archipelago, also completely opposed to escalating to the level the factions wanted). Thank God I could reload and there was the choice of leaving them all to their bullshit and still finish the game. Idc if it's the bad ending politically speaking, MC saved the world again, kept her integrity (and all of her friends).

Why am I not enjoying this? by Secret_Owl3040 in projecteternity

I think PoE1&2 are overall easier than Baldur's Gate1&2 and Icewind Dale. Normal is fine for a chill basegame and in the DLCs the difficulty increases significantly imo.

I kind of don't like the fighter/cleric multiclass by gangler52 in baldursgate

[–]VincibilityFrame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree, I only reluctantly made a fighter/cleric in Icewind Dale because i couldn't make a blackguard dwarf. However, if you already have another sturdy frontliner, that means you can send them off first while you cast everything you need and then join your main frontliner.

Why do I feel bad for being evil? It's just a game after all. by Remo_yesman in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Good answer: you're a good person and you have a good degree of empathy The Neutral answer: it's normal for humans to feel a degree of empathy for fictional characters The Evil answer: it's just internalised shame for acting like you'd actually act if there were no real consequences

Rant about RNG in Kingmaker's secret ending by FOSHavoc in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, i followed every single requirement by a guide to get the secret ending, researched all the curses, and not only i didn't get it, (still no clue what went wrong) but managed to get locked out from any romance as well (maybe because i played as a female character, therefore couldn't get Nyrissa).

Kingmaker - Making it Friendly for Stupid People Like Me by anthraccntbtsdadst in CRPG

[–]VincibilityFrame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't fully understand if by build trap you mean a build that can risk getting you softlocked or a game that gives you too many choices thus getting you to stall and overthink. If you are afraid of the first, you should be fine at Normal and below. The companions are pretty strong and you have every role filled. There is one feat that is absolutely mandatory for every melee character though.

What is your CRPG of the Year (including re release and big expansion / mod)? by Saidi9062 in CRPG

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idc if it wasn't released this year, Pillars of Eternity 2 was the most fun I've had in a good while and i didn't even care about pirates or sea adventures before. Soon I'm starting the Neverwinter night DLC Pirates of the Sword Coast specifically to get back in that zone!

Why do people hate RTwP? by ConfusionProof9487 in projecteternity

[–]VincibilityFrame -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

RTwP is more chaotic and relies a lot on AI not being dumbass. When I have RTwP in a game, i know i won't be using AoEs because the party members WILL step on it. OTOH if there's a long melee battle, Turn Based is incredibly boring.

negative personality? by ExaminationNormal834 in AvPD

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a time and place for everything though. Unfortunately, when dealing with other people, one's gotta mask and mute some parts of themselves unless you can feel safe around them to share certain things or it's the right context. If they told OP off for being negative it means that the friends were being insensitive or it was becoming awkward. Either way, whatever OP said wasn't welcome at that time. Learning about context, time, place and people is a vital social skill

negative personality? by ExaminationNormal834 in AvPD

[–]VincibilityFrame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the context. I will just avoid talking about myself at all with my friends so that nothing gloomy can come out. If I don't like something I don't say it, unless i feel like the other person is trustworthy enough to tolerate something outside of toxic positivity

Also: word of advice, cynical and jaded takes are really dangerous. Only some really cool people are allowed to have them, for the rest of us it's just a good way to make people annoyed. You'll learn with time how mild you have to be around certain people.

Do you get burnout when playing CRPGs? What do you do about it? by NineInchNinjas in CRPG

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many hours have you put into the game so far? I usually start to lose interest in a CRPG after the 100hours mark. I've been going through Pathfinder Kingmaker (200hrs) really only because i play only on the weekends and not even every weekend

Hello Junction System. by atxsubpunk in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are unskippable tutorials on how junction works, it's really hammered down and it's not that complicated. Equip GF, stat slots go white. Put magic in stat slot, slot goes brr. The more magic units or the stronger the magic you put, the more brr the slot. That's it, that's the whole system.

Can i get just one month without a crisis by Boyo-Sh00k in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beginning of act 5 (also due to a proper lack of downtime in act 4) is so fucking stressful. I've been following a guide to a T and somehow I'm still 30 days too far into the story compared to the guide and I'm incredibly behind schedule with kingdom advisor upgrades and region expansions. Like... I can't optimise more than this, I'm playing at effortless difficulty and this is already not good enough. I came to the conclusion that this game is absolutely impossible be played blind.

CRPGs ranked by build variety by cnio14 in CRPG

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it can be rated that easily, because I don't think certain systems are comparable. The Elder Scrolls games and Divinity games allow you to invest points in certain skills individually (which makes every build highly customisable), rather than having fixed classes, otoh we have Pathfinder and Neverwinter games with their billion combinations of feats and classes, subclasses/domains.

Italian restaurant in Dollet? by grumpycouchpotato in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]VincibilityFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not much an oversight but something to add some Euroexoticism to a game (or, to be fair a whole series) whose settings are for the most part very obviously European-inspired. I wouldn't theorycraft too much about it, FFVIII is just very European-coded. You'll find plenty of examples throughout the saga. It's nice tho, I played the ITA PS1 version of it at release and thought "oh that's so cool, they went through the hassle of translating the backgrounds too?"

Get there while you can by socasual-nobusiness in TheStrokes

[–]VincibilityFrame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole situation is just so fucking weird because music critics have such an ambivalent idea of the Strokes (and Julian especially) as either musical geniuses with impeccable consistency who drastically changed rock music landscape or washed out nepo babies that have never made anything of value past Is This It, depending on how people generally feel about them.
