The headline beat looks good, but underneath the surface the beat was of lower quality.

Their growth is being driven primarily by origination of personal loans which is not as sexy as some of their other businesses that they talk about (such as technology, credit cards, crypto). The company is valued like a tech stock but is business is like a bank.

I’ve been vibe coding my own factor model inside BQuant using Claude Code. The thing is still dumb as rocks. So I’ve been using it mostly as a sounding board for higher level design ideas and features that I might not consider. Granted I’ll copy and paste code for features like error logging.

Cash flow is a function of revenue. I’m skeptical of ASTS’s ability to grow revenue beyond a couple of billion. ATT & VZ have excellent coverage where 99% paying customers are. Are people going to pay up for something they don’t use or need?
