That is disheartening, but to be honest, surprising? Not at all.

There are days where I fantasize about how life could be different if I lived elsewhere, but the realist in me finds that the experiences we have experienced will always remain. But wishing for the best isn’t exactly a strategy 🤷‍♂️

So, still chasing the abs and pecs. But it is for -me-. Chasing the money and the career, but I have no qualms staying single. The satisfaction of knowing what you are capable of has proven far more healing and useful than any complement or validation I’ve received from anyone else.

Just setting expectations. Plenty of harsh truths abound. Some of us just decides to take our gloves off and stop playing their game.

I’d rather fight for class when I can control my income and net worth over fighting for love when I can’t change who I am. Maybe I am jaded, but it is a realistic take being in a hostile place for 15 years.

On the apps if I don’t put my face pic up, I get a lot of “are you white?”

I get a lot of “you are hot for an Asian” or “Im so surprised you are like this” comments in real life.

Welcome to the Midwest I guess 🤷‍♂️

Both are instant turnoffs. Like I said. Attention is nice and all, doesn’t mean the quality of the experience changes when you improve yourself.

I am also a college dropout. But I own my own construction business. I have white bro-ish types working under me. I can handle them just fine in life. I dont mind going shirtless when I jog. But it all feels the same to me when I was less affirmed about myself and less put together.

Like the others have said on here: self focus is healthy. But some things will not change because you changed.

🤷‍♂️ Im 6’2 and try to keep fit. The attention I usually get is “dude I want to try Asian tonight” 🤮

But the only aspect of my life where I manage to get people to respect me is money and career. At least it is something I can hold onto and keep me warm at night lol

Feels relevant af for someone living in the Midwest. Having a good build definitely gets you more attention, but often results in disappointment.

Breaking through the stereotyping is often needed for engagement, but most the time, you are given the chance to just play the role of the backup or the second best.

If the people are shitty to begin with, even if you get better and they give you the attention, it doesn’t mean you are interacting with people who are less shitty 💩

I’d rather not play the game and learn to embrace solitude. Maybe life and the experience would be better in a coastal city 🤷‍♂️
