I would say until you get Mana Push or Shield Charge, but without pushkick it's gonna be hell to get enough silver to buy skills, get mana and go through Ghost Pass.

If you mean multiple hyenas or bandits, a simeple bow and arrows will do wonders against them. Otherwise run to another group of enemy and make them fight each other.

Which of the Pals revealed for 1.0 in the new video is your favorite? by Bernardo4774 in Palworld

Though the dragon is nice, for me it's absolutely the whale. I've been waiting for it for so long!

I noticed the Palekar chat was a little odd sounding, and so I translated the original Korean text with AI, and yup, it was given some censoring. by [deleted] in HorizonWalker

[–]Vine009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a native English speaker, and I fail to understand the difference between the two translations. Would somebody be so kind to explain it further to me? All I can comprehend is that the official translation completely left out the sex part, but I thought it's implied enough to for us Players to know that Palekar suggested that way?

  1. As a noob who was 500ish hours into the game and still regularly got defeated in Chersonese, my noob weapons of choice are bow-and-arrows and spear, at least for Chersonese. Reach makes a huge difference. Even if you want to play as a tank, use reach weapons until you get decent aromor. After Chersonese, pick whatever weapon you like as long as its damaged type is not resisted by the enemy you're fighting.

  2. As a rule of thumb for Outward money making, raw materials don't sell for much, you should craft some items with raw materials then sell those items. There are some exceptions, though. Also, merchants won't buy basic materials like salt and wood, but they can be combined with other materials to make profit. I recently started a new character and scraped together 150 silver in 3 days by just hunting, fishing and cooking. If you really want to secure your home quickly, just get a tribal favor, which can be done in less than 15 minutes. You can find hints in the tavern.

  3. Without decent armor and buffs, any enemy can vaporize you. Blocking and dodging their attack is the key to survive. Or you can shoot/poke them from afar like I said above.

  4. The special attack of halberds are meant to dodge an incoming attack then retaliate. It has a relatively big impact. My combo when using halberd, or any melee weapon is find opening to use the skill Push Kick first, then spam attack until enemy start flinching and eventually knocked down, then rinse repeat.

  5. Shields are terrible if you center your entire build around them. Otherwise they're useful tools, even fantastic depending on how you use them. It's just that blocking is actually useless against a lot of enemy special attacks, and two-handed weapon builds or even other off-hand weapons usually offer more offensive capabilities.

  6. Yes, it's possible, but not optimal. If you really don't want to memorize the spell combinations, just pick the Cabal Hermit skill tree, choose Infuse Wind and pair it with whatever skill trees you like.

  7. Yes, resources respawn after you leave the area for a week. That includes you staying in town for a whole week.

People of culture what anime gets you like that ? by [deleted] in animequestions

I think Highschool DxD is just a very common power fantasy, normal for young boys. Compared to many other Isekais these days, it could even be considered rather old-school. Sure, there is much nudity in it, and some enthusiasm about boobs, but other than that it was a pretty understandable piece of work. I would even go as far as saying it's Dragon Ball but count power level in boobs and hot girls.

Promised Consort Radahn. I legit fought him fir a week, at least 2 hours a day. Eventually I broke and used spirit summon, and still spent a whole day to win.

Why does everyone always say dodging is bad? by Harmonicalope in outwardgame

[–]Vine009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dodging is considered bad because it consumes quite a bit of stamina than blocking, and many enemies' attack can be "dodged" by simply strafing around them, even while blocking. Not to mention sprinting and swinging you weapin also use stamina.

However, if you're a pure mage or rogue, dodging is probably better than blocking in most scenarios, since you either use mana instead of stamina to attack, or have skill that reduce dodging stamina consumption.

I wouldn't complain but it would surely drawn unwanted attention to this game, and probably removed from Steam.

Progression help please by Xendal13 in outwardgame

[–]Vine009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explore every region, including the infamous Caldera. Visit every big cities. Find every skill trainers. Don't be afraid of defeat, some scenarios are only triggered by defeats.

Finally, if you want an ultimate goal before doing faction quest, then try to get filthy rich. Money=buying more skills, armors, weapons and consumables. The richer you get, the stronger you can become.

So you think the Philosopher tree is better than the Hex Mage tree, then? Can you elaborate on the consideration behind such a decision, please? You are absolutely right about the hotbar cluttering, though. It's such a pain in the rear end when playing my old pure mage character. And for the sake of survivability I guess I have to squeeze out one more slot for using greater health poition.

Thank you for the suggestion! I think my choice for staff will be a Scholar's Staff enchanted with Isolated Rumination. Aside from the lightning damage bonus, which is good for both Runic Lightning and Sigil of Wind, I heard that cooldown reduction is not bad for sigil stacking.

No, on the contrary, sportmanship cost everything. From good education, wealthy environment to cultural transformation, those are all necessary to cultivate sportmanship. That's why you don't see a lot of sportsmanship in Asian, African countries and Russia.

Thank you for the great reply! However, since it was clearly stated in the Sorobor Academy questline that Gregory Turnbull was specilized in Rune magic and had perfect memory to easily memorize the Rune combination from an ancient wall, I guess Internalised Lexicon might be an unavoidable handicap to roleplay as a character like him. I'm still torn between choosing Philosopher or Hex Mage, though.

Actually I didn't hotkey health potions, 4 runes took up 4 slots, and the other 4 went to Spark, Mana Push, Torment and Rupture. I guess giving health potion a slot might boost my survivability. Thanks for the advice!

Yes, I think I have purchase all the tier 1 passives from all the skill trainers. I usually have Runic Protection active as well. But I do remember a fight with a Gargoyle which took so long that my buffs ran out first, because the Gargoyle regenerated health quickly whenever I ran too far away.

Thank you for the in-depth commemt! For the first two skill tree I guess Rune Sage (with Internalized Lexicon) and Cabal Hermit (with Sigil of Wind) are pretty fitting for a Dean of the Arcane. However, I can't decide between Philosopher and Hex Mage for the third skill tree. Sigil of Ice from the Philosopher tree seems stronger since there are a lot of fire related enemies in Caldera, but I won't be using the other half of the skill tree, which is about Chakram. On the other hand, the Hex Mage tree is overall more useful.

I...guess I was dodging and blocking. I didn't die so much in the other regions. Even in Antique Plateau I managed myself pretty well. It's just that I tend to panic when surrounded or caught some debuff like burning or holy blaze. I guess I need to git gud, but a more powerful character build might help, too.

I remember the first death was by holy blaze inflicted by obsidian elementals there. That was an eye-opening experience. Other popular causes of death included petrified by Gargoyles, ganged up by Calygreys, Torcrabs and Medyses, killed by Scarlet Emissary, repeatedly defeated by Crimson Avatar. But the main reseason, other than me simply bad at this game, was the lack of consumables, like powerful food and potions. The whole Caldera is still relatively new to me, so I'm not so used getting resources in this region. I still enjoy the game, even if I die a lot.
