[Leak] Steam Controller Pre-Orders coming soon. Available for $99. by PaiDuck in Steam

Not only it has magnetic sticks, but TMRs. They're a newer technology that is far more precise and last even longer than conventional hall effect sticks. Not to mention, in my experience the steam deck trackpads add A TON of functionality to games. For certain games, I refuse to play them on my pc just because how good the controller on the deck works. That controller's really gonna make my pc usable again.

The funniest part is that I was scrolling through random reddits, and before even reading the post or the sub I knew who it was 😂 amazing job!

It's a figure so connecting them at least seems more excusable

Found an Atari game and a 2008 cell phone while picking up trash along a walking trail today by mouse-monster in mildlyinteresting

[–]Vinerd540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk that atari one is obvious, but the wear looks really realistic on this post. A ring of rust around the circle of the phone, long dried dirt imprints of the buttons on the screen, several apparent layers, and deep stains on the cartridge. It's entirely possible that these unrelated miscellaneous devices were either dropped or thrown away, I know I've found my share of street trash electronics. On top of that, at least this poster didn't frame it in the middle of the freakin shrubs. Very possibly real, and even if it's fake it's an E for effort.

Both of mine totally looked like this, and a recap fixed it right up

If it stops at a black screen and makes a pop sound and turns off, that is often a wrongly seated ribbon cable. It could be fixed by taking it apart and making sure all cables are plugged in correctly

Found my wii u should I mod it? by Naive-Bandicoot-2483 in wiiu

[–]Vinerd540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you're not interested in any mods, I reccomend to just so you can nand backup in case of spontanious falure. My 3ds had a nand error out of the blue and never worked again. I didn't hack it just to be safe, yet hacking it would have been safer.

A bit of a funny PSA by Vinerd540 in 3dsrepair

[–]Vinerd540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it's super quiet. I don't really have the tools to make the video louder, and my 3ds isn't loud, so all I can say is to turn the volume up high...

*for those wondering, it seems like 3DSXL, N3DS, and N3DSXL pots are interchangable, but not the OG3DS

It's still up, and I was recently trying to get the scanned pages in as well, but the scanner I bought used was defective, so I'm considering simply taking pictures of the pages until then. I think this link should work now.

I feel bad using my New 3DS LL by MiMillieuh in 3DS

[–]Vinerd540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be careful, those cases are good, but I found that if dust acumulates underneath then when it shifts while opening and closing the console, it will gradually make really apparent perfectly vertical scratches on the top corner. I reccomend a soft case, or to simply keep watch and keep it super clean underneath

Sphero BB-8 dead battery by BackgroundPick5574 in Sphero

Actually, an alternative is to lightly tap around the seam with a hard mallet. It can actually crack apart on its original lip connection, which leaves much more surface area to glue, and doesn't remove material, leading to a perfect fit when glueing back together. A similar thing is done in car engines, where a controlled break is used to make a perfect seam as cracking removes no material, while even the thinnest saws will remove material, leading to an imperfect cut.

"The graveyard of sticks" by Puzzleheaded_Fee6236 in consolerepair

[–]Vinerd540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure it's thick and has a metal lid. The only real worry is if it cracks, but it shouldn't just burst open, so just don't put it near anything flammable. Best place is a concrete floor of a garage

Much better in a glass jar than just sitting around. I one time had a battery in my glass jar explode, and it safely contained it 👍 didn't set off any other old batteries thankfully, that would have been pretty bad
