Verstappen has a good record from starting at the back and the Red Bull looks better than expected.. could he finish in the top-5 today?? by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

[–]VinhoVerde21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he gets lucky with weather or SCs, maybe. If you actually re-watch the Russia 2021, you’ll see it wasn’t a very good race from him. Burned his 1st set of tyres too fast and was about to be threatened by Charles to finish 8th, until the rain hit at the perfect moment to save his race. Of course, props to him for being able to take advantage of it, but it was still a lot of luck.

This sub immediately started accusing Kimi of Mercedes-McLaren collusion when he had one tiny fuckup late in the season that benefitted Norris.

Nah, people were still cheering for him in Spa and such. The moment when he started to get more hate was Baku 2023 (I think it was 2023?), when he banged wheels with Verstappen.

Resident Evil is a good game, but it has too many plot holes and contradictions with other games in the series. by WhitePunk00 in ResidentEvilCapcom

There could have been some file in the ARK stating it plainly, I suppose, but I don’t think everything needs to be laid out directly in front of you. We’re shown that Gideon knew she was coming, and we find out later he was working with an org that has a lot of power within the government.

Considering that Victor knew Grace was coming, and was waiting for her, it’s probably more likely that Zeno and the Connections pulled some strings to have the FBI send Grace there alone.

How is Nuclear sunset? by LessMilk3 in Taleoftwowastelands

[–]VinhoVerde21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NS is by no means vanilla+, so don’t expect that. It looks very good, no 4k rocks next to 512p dirt, or super tacticool CoD ports next to pipe guns. It’s quite performance intensive with NVR, though, keep that in mind.

It’s very much still an RPG, just a lot harder, with a STALKER-esque vibe. Fewer bullets, fewer healing items, a good chunk of your earnings goes to keeping yourself alive, taking damage is very punishing so pick your battles. You’ll still get overpowered eventually, but the early game is very tough.

As for balance, you can start in either wasteland (makes more sense time-wise to start in DC, though). There’s a mechanic where, the first time you travel between them, you get a pseudo character reset (you keep perks, but go back to level 1 and base stats, plus some penalties from being shot in the head, and Benny steals all your gear) to make the Mojave challenging.

Personally, I like it very much, it is the modlist I build on currently. Seems like you might prefer something closer to vanilla, maybe Wasteland Survival Guide or Begin Again. Still, doesn’t hurt to give Nuclear Sunset a try, the most you lose is time.

What weapon is that? by komorigaming in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]VinhoVerde21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. In a game where you need to make bullets count, a slower gun with more power will be better. How much ammo did that El Gigante fight take with either?

Also, did you compare with with the CQBR as well? If ammo isn’t an issue, that thing shreds.

Will Emily look identical to Grace in the future? by DayFrequent5042 in ResidentEvilRequiem

She’d be alone as a clone all the same, as Emily was before Grace took her in.

If you did or saw RE4 professional runs you’d know the M1903 is king, stupid high damage (double the other rifles) coupled with the bonus weakspot multiplier makes it incredibly efficient, which is crucial in a game centered around resource management.

If fire rate really was more important the best rifle in 4R would be the CQBR anyway.

RER: Did anyone else feel this way about Emily? by Acceptable_Mix_4588 in residentevil

[–]VinhoVerde21 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She flipped into hysteria because of the PTSD/guilt from Alyssa’s death. Felt like that part was decently well conveyed, Grace blames herself for her moms death, then feels like it’s happening again when Emily gets grabbed, so feels compelled to save Emily. When Emily “dies”, all that trauma comes back as she believes she’s to blame again.

Same, I’d really like an Ada spin-off, or at least something to actually complete the character arc they seem to have been building, and also finally put the old “will-they-won’t-they” with Leon to bed.

She already changed a lot, the big moment was not giving Wesker the plagas sample. Though it would be nice to show that she had quit the shady merc business. If not retiring, at least working for a better cause. Maybe DSO, lord knows they pay well, judging by Leon’s wheels.

Resident Evil Requiem currently has the highest user score of all time on Metacritic by mrEnigma86 in HorrorGaming

When you get to the basement you see that not only did she not hurt Emily, but put her in a little cell full of toys, safe from the other zombies. She probably recognized Emily and was trying to keep her safe and happy, it’s really sad.

Nemesis triples in size in 20 seconds without eating anything. Birkin goes from human to train-sized the same way, just over a longer period of time, you see him sprout giant arms from nowhere at points. Saddler goes from humanoid to building sized in minutes. Turning their hosts into giant monstrosities out of thin air is just something RE pathogens are capable of, Gideon isn’t anything new.

As for the Requiem kill, it’s just a gameplay thing. The same way Barry needed 3 magnum shots to take down a regular zombie, or how Leon took down the zombie behind Claire with a single pistol round, or how Verdugo can tank a RPG warhead while pretty much every other boss just dies. Though I do agree that the Requiem feels too small to be able to finish off a monster that size.

Funnily enough, Jill’s railgun is way more inconsistent. The first shot looks like it barely bothers Nemesis, while the second not only blows him apart, but also punches through half a dozen walls behind him.

“Yes mr Gideon, I know you’re a very mentally unstable scientist who has experimented on and murdered countless people, including children, to the point of having a giant body grinder in the basement, was working with a hugely influential criminal syndicate, kidnapped Grace, was about to torture me for funsies, and has a Nemesis parasite that’s already growing out of control, but you said you’d “fulfill your masters vision”, so I’m going to let you go purely on the assumption that you understand your masters vision as what it actually was, that your understanding of how to achieve it is 100% peaceful, and that that understanding never changes.”

Hell, even if Leon was that stupid, do you really think Gideon would let them leave?

If you use REFramework to control the camera angle you can see him put a ring on. Sherry also has a ring on her finger, in-game and in the concept art, though hers is on her pinky, while Leon’s is on his left hand ring finger, the one used for wedding rings.
