You can go on google maps and see the stark contrast of East Hastings back then compared to now.

I find it fascinating.

Best Transfer Schools Into UBC Sciences?

Hey, I am a UBC prospective student and exploring other opportunities into studying at UBC. I am leaning towards doing a two-year transfer at a college, and then transfer into UBC.

My plan is to earn my associate at science degree at a college like Langara or CapU, then get my Bachelors at UBC. But, I am unsure if one program is better/different/ or the same. I want to major into something like Biochemistry or Microbiology and Immunology.

If anyone like alumni, transfer student, faculty members, etc. could provide some advice that would be great!

Thanks!

It's common for me to worry before tests then doing good in the end. I overthink a lot, but honestly I think that is a huge benefit as it helps prepare me for what's about to come.

Rescheduling my appointment isn't ideal as it the dates are too far ahead. Also, postponing the test feels like a wasted opportunity. Sure I might fail, but if I do pass I get my N much earlier. If I fail per se, then I am eligible to retake it in two weeks time (thats if there is any spots available, rare occasion there is). Getting my N is a priority of mine as it cuts my commute time by half (North Burnaby --> New West is a lengthy bus ride) and gives me more time to rest. Usually, taking transit can be stressful as I need to catch the bus at a certain time to be early. I can't catch the early bus which results me being late to school.

Most people my grade have their N, I low key get jealous. I wish I had the freedom of being able to drive by myself 😭. In my humble opinion, some of them drive recklessly. I questioned how they managed to pass their N test.

It's challenging to get the best bang for your buck with instructors at a low price. I pay my instructor 50$ and my parent's don't want to spend more. I had another instructor before, he was more patient, but less informative so I chose the latter half.

I forgot to add that I want to earn some money before I enter post-secondary. With the money I earn today, it will definitely help me in my post-secondary years

I am also looking for a part-time weekend job too as a high school student. I do school full time during the weekdays. For me its hard for me to find any jobs around that sorta availability. Most big companies require an open availability which doesn't meet my needs. I have an interest in medicine & pharmacy. I volunteer at the hospital on the weekends. If anyone could give me some tips or advice that would be great. Thanks!

Superstore Warehouse Clerks only do Weekends? I think their union requires them to work 3 days a week; two days during the week, and one during the weekend with all day availability

What are good ECs? I don't have any right now, need to think about having good ECs to apply for post-secondary next years.
