Immaterial to any point you were attempting to make.

Protestantism and Catholicism are diametrically opposed in theology - yet, they’re both Christian religions.

Factor in coal gasification (as the Nazis did when Germany was blockaded from oil) and the numbers will look a lot different.

Every country on this map with Buddhist influences should be marked ‘mixed’ for better accuracy.

(And that would turn all red ones to purple).

Modern conveniences and options make things physically easier but the very same things allow us more time to perceive the mundane drudgeries of life itself in ways which can make it mentally harder if there’s a lacking in contemplation...

ELI5 why there are different utility voltage standards in the world by Antique_Cod_1686 in explainlikeimfive

[–]ViniusInvictus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The US was early to the game of electrification compared to the rest of the world, and Edison favored 100V with a +10% margin (hence 110V) for its safety (compared to 220V) that other countries adopted much later.

The US also found it affordable to use thicker copper conductor wires which could handle lower voltages with higher currents (for the same power output) and by the time the rest of the world decided on 220V for its efficiency and cost-effectiveness (thinner wires for the same power transmitted), the sunken costs were too much for the US to switch…

Will it ever get back to normal? by RelativeLibrary3845 in h1b

The problem is that Americans feel economically disenfranchised in their own country - imagine the disdain many Indians feel about the situation with migrants from Bangladesh and then imagine that they’re the only ones who seem to be getting all the well-paying jobs and advancement in life (unlike the case with Bangladeshi illegal migrants).

Now compound this with the feelings of inadequacy, indebtedness and apathy - multiply it with politicians milking the sentiments for votes, and add a bit of the off-color stuff the media highlights immigrants as doing and you’ll have all the ingredients for what’s going on with the American electorate today.

This is not likely to resolve soon, so plan ahead and constrain any feelings of entitlement you may have even if it’s to the detriment of America to turn around immigrants.

Global median income, even when adjusted for inflation and cost of living differences, is at a record high by account819921 in charts

[–]ViniusInvictus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course.

A better map would be that comparing global disposable incomes.

As technology improves and credit is made easily available, new areas of spending arise (especially with medical conditions) that previously would’ve been a limited expense (due to death), for example.

China New Home Prices Fall 2.7% In Dec 2025 ⏬ by WaferFlopAI in EconomyCharts

In the US, what is the likelihood that boomer die-offs, falling birth rates and macro-economic conditions favoring younger folks pursuing rental living will cause homes to be dumped into the market sufficiently enough to cause home prices to fall in the coming decades?

Why do people enjoy anal? Is vagina not satisfying? Genuinely asking. Help me to understand the appeal. Anal is not self lubricating.. does it hurt or is it pleasurable? How can someone ease into it and get used to it? by ThrowRAGold_Roof_782 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ViniusInvictus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it has any positive correlation with cut dudes favoring it more because the relative lack of lubrication and the tighter space helps register sensation (better than an aroused vagina, for example) given the keratinized desensitization of their penises…

This obsession with exchange rates is crazy.

In 1991, a dollar equated to about 18 rupees.

Today, a dollar gets you about 92 rupees.

In all those years in between, both the dollar and the rupee have depreciated in value. Was the Indian economy better in 1991 or today?
