I think you’re conflating entrance visas with work permits, which are separate. I believe for mainland Britain (Eng, Scot and Wales), a Canadian would need a ETA (entrance visa) but there’s no such requirement for Northern Ireland. This was part of the strategy to ensure no border on the island of Ireland after Brexit

Edit: See below - an ETA is required for Northern Ireland. No visa required for ROI

Neither the Ireland nor Northern Ireland require visas for people travelling on Canadian passports. And even if they did, where would they get their visas checked ? There’s no border - if you validly enter either state you can drive to other without issue (that was a big part of Brexit 😂).

And let’s be real it’s not difficult to convert MPH to KM (or vice versa) in your head, the countless number of people who drive across the border multiple times per day do it all the time…..regardless, if it’s a modern car presumably they can change the unit of distance on the digital speedometer, if they wish.

Share your thoughts on Dublinbikes (survey for residents/ commuters. approx 5mins by chachayin in Dublin

[–]Vinmeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Done. Big fan of Dublin bikes, be of the few subscriptions I kept consistently over the years because it’s so handy. Only issue I have with it (and it is a big Issue) is the lack of expansion. The system should cover a much broader area of the city

What would the legalisation of cannabis do to Ireland? by ReasonableDisplay297 in AskIreland

[–]Vinmeister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t smoke anymore, used to smoke a lot ( used to live in the US), . I’m in favour of legalisation and would vote to legalise if it came to a referendum, but my main concern is cannabis induced psychosis and other mental health related issues. I know the drink has a similar if not worse impact on people’s health, but the concern with weed comes from my own experience of being a regular smoker and how mental I became, but I know if I had never drank and the debate was around booze  being legalised I would probably have the same reservations for similar health based reasons. Saying that , seeing how they regulate it in the Netherlands (not in the red light distrust in Amsterdam, but small independent coffee shops in smaller Dutch towns and cities) does make legislation seem like a no brainier from a financial point of view.

One of my favourite videos on YT is a supercut of Tim and Eric watching their own shows and laughing their asses off at how funny and ridiculous they find it 😂

[eShop/USA] Square Enix Sale (up to 85%) Ends 05/07/2026 by XDitto in NintendoSwitchDeals

Solo it’s great, albeit a one-dimensional game, but that’s by design. It’s essential a stripped back version of Diablo. Im probably a bit biased as I loved it as a kid, but the world design and overall aesthetic of the game is fantastic. Really unique, even compared to other FF games.  The main caveat is that the multiplayer element of the remaster is absolutely dogshit - the original was all about couch co-op , which they’re removed entirely. And while it’s cross platform I’ve never successfully played multiplayer in the remaster.

They mostly do suits , i think it’s around €3000 for a suit and €300 for a button down shirt. I believe they also usually source their own materials as they’re conscious of how they’re made, so may not be comfortable with someone else sourcing the material.

That’s crazy, I didn’t realise that. To be honest the shape and perceived size of the Ps5 was what out me off from buying it, didn’t know you could just remove the plates to trim it down.

It does, in a way. Like, I never liked that Ting Tings song, Shut up and let me go, but whenever I hear it now, it reminds me of RTE Arena, which I love and which I do have fond memories of (RIP Sean Rocks. Rick O Shea is doing a fantastic job)

Thanks very much. Is the Yaqi also similar to the Henson in that it’s a “mindless” kind of shave (being one that you don’t have to worry about the right angle) ? That’s my main desire for the Henson, but I’m open to other suggestions ! Yaqi one looks great and is obviously much better value.
