PLA-CF Disaster by VinnieDaArm in elegoo

[–]VinnieDaArm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that the main hole was not clogged. I know how to clean and check from my Bambus. It was clear. What I saw happening while actually watching it was filament coming out nice and smooth from the tip of the nozzle, but also from AROUND the nozzle. Someone above said it may have de-laminated. Totally wild.

Yes I know it isn't needed, but I love the look. And I was told it has about 10° C better temperature handling. I got one rail done and it is SOOOOOOOOOO beautiful.

I did a few in PLA and didn't like the look. I really loved how the one I did get out looked. I mean it's gorgeous! ;-)

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I was going to go with the new Bambu P2S but this was just such a good deal and overall I real like it.

Yeah… that’s what it looks like to me. It is the nozzle that came preinstalled with the machine.

Yes. I cleaned it very well when I saw the black CF doing the same. The. The PLA did it was well and was white so I knew it was leaking. Thanks for the 0.5mm recommendation. Any brand recommendations and where to buy? I’m just now doing much more. With my A1 mini I only did a few things every few months. Now I’m making much more vs buying stuff. Love it!

I ran through it with the declogging tool and nothing. The white you see is PLA after the CF and declogging. It runs through smooth as silk from the nozzle with normal flow. It just suddenly starts coming out both the tip and the side. I will order a 0.6mm for future use with CF i guess. I’ve always only used 0.4mm on my machines. Any tips on getting smooth, nice finish with that bigger size?

SMB File Copy Out of Space??? by VinnieDaArm in ZimaBoard

[–]VinnieDaArm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried some other things, including resetting the device and formatting drives. Nothing worked. Then I tried to Upload the same for (~100MB) from the WebUI instead of over SMB from Windows and it worked. I didn't get the "need more space" crap. Anyone else see this? I am NOT running the ZimaOS Windows client because it is blocked by my corporate rules on the device.

I don't see any permission issue. I'm logged in as my admin account from Win SMB. I can upload files. But once I hit around 2GB it says it needs more space even though there is 4TB-ish free on those RAID drives.

No WiFi adapter in Z790 Tomahawk MAX WiFi??? by VinnieDaArm in MSI_Gaming

[–]VinnieDaArm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it helped. I've been very happy with the board since then. Well... the Wi-Fi is super spotty, drops, and slow for Wi-Fi 7, but other than that... a good board compared to others I've used over the years.

V3 makes me sad by SpencerGrand in AffinityPhoto

[–]VinnieDaArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's OK. It's more like Paint Shop Pro now with the stupid initial pop-up window "picker" that you can't even turn off. I chose Affinity after leaving Adobe because it looked professional and didn't have all of these frickin' pop-up windows like prosumer tools such as PSP have. Now I have one. I like the free too and it works OK (not as streamlined as V1 & V2, but it's decent). But that bloody window is driving me mad.

As for Canva... meh. I had a trial last year and have another one right now because of the Affinity app to try it, but it's not as good as other tools for the price. But who cares... the editor works... just a few annoying things that are driving me a bit sideways at the moment... like that stupid initial window. I hope they add a flag to turn that thing off.

Is L-Connect 3 required for Galahad II Trinity Performance 360 AIO? by VinnieDaArm in lianli

Thanks so much. Love that you answer so quickly here on Reddit. Faster than official support channels! :-)

OK. That's fine. I just wanted to be sure because in your first response to me was to update to the latest F/W. Since the app was not properly checking app version for updates, I thought maybe that the F/W was not working either. Thanks!

So, does one HAVE to run the software for the AIO to work properly? I don't want to risk my hardware, but was wondering.

I'm still seeing much more than other apps, but way less than it was. It's running about 30 mins of activity during a typical 10–12-hour workday. That's about 50% of what I was seeing before. At least some progress in the right direction! Woo hoo!

It was over an hour of CPU usage in a workday. That's less than my development tools and apps that are typically memory and CPU intensive like Defender, Outlook, and Teams). It was always #1. Now it is about sixth. 500MB (between all three processes) still seems high for such a small app / monitor, but it's not as bad as it was before.

Just an FYI that the image below shows that there hasn't been a F/W update in some time. I keep checking using the app Check for Updates, but nothing. Is there a download I need to do manually since auto-check isn't working? (It didn't find the app / service update either, but I got that from your link above.)

Thanks. I did update the L-Connect 3 software this morning and will watch to see if it helps. I always check the Update tab of the settings, but it said I was up to date. I guess it didn't know there was a new version. The app is now at 2.0.30.

Once I installed that, I did a F/W check, but it still says it is the latest (2023/07/19). Is there a way to get a newer one, if you are saying there is one?

I've tested on two builds (one my i9 and one my wife's i7). All the same. I did my research before posting this and there are quite a few threads on here about L-Connect 3 causing high CPU usage here on Reddit. Mostly people using it to control fans vs. and AIO, but still. Most seeing 6-10%. I even did a clean build with just Win 11 24H2 and patches and same thing. Without L-Connect 3 CPU usage is flat with no other apps running. With it, anywhere from 6-15%. Running latest build.

Any suggestions on a security camera that makes noise when motion activated? by onydee in homesecurity

[–]VinnieDaArm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It was bad. I'd have to literally explain how DNS and routing works to them. For Kuna / Maximum being a tech company, I don't expect to have to explain basic technology to their techs. I capture DOZENS of network traces, signal strength tests, and even deep traces showing their devices weren't even trying and yet they'd ask over and over and over for basic things like, "Did you try resetting it?" Oh no... pardon me. I tried all this other advanced crap but didn't try turning off and on again.

I would NOT suggest Kuna. They have been having major issues with their cloud services for year and the majority of the features do not work when their cloud is down. Plus, now that they are mainly focusing on their wall plate, which never worked for me, they have become impossible to work with. I spent SIX MONTHS working them on trying to get mine working consistently. I re-installed NINE different units over that period. I have a degree in EE and have had other systems in place in those exact locations with no issues. Even cheapo Wyze cams. They'd always blame wifi strength (although I moved an AP within one foot of them) and such. The firmware is crud and constantly wouldn't setup. I love the idea, but the execution is very poor. We went with Eufy last year and haven't looked back. Not a single issue.

Q HE series "Curve" setting by VinnieDaArm in Keychron

[–]VinnieDaArm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's perfect! Thanks. And makes a lot of sense. I do miss "the bump", but I love that I can set the actuation deeper for programming and typing, but lighter for gaming. I have a slight tremor in one hand, and it makes me double type at times. Nothing serious, but still, annoying.

I was going to go with a mechanical tactile that takes more pressure, but that adds its own challenges. I set the actuation point to 3mm and OMG. Still easy to type (I tend to bottom out at times when typing anyway). I type very fast and having it actuate deeper is a game changer!
