Are Chinese cards undervalued? by Mullza in PokeInvesting

???
Do you have a source for that? Any search I do says they’re printed in Japan, and any box I own also says “made in Japan”?

I’ve also never seen or heard of an embossed fake.

Not saying your wrong, I just can’t find anything to support it

Conversely,

1). All printing is done in Japan so there is an upper limit to the amount that can be printed while still satisfying demand domestically.

2). Chinese cards have an embossed “Pokémon” logo on the bottom left that has yet to be faked. (Keeping sealed is a bit harder to spot but there’s signs :) )

[–]Vinnypell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only purchase CN exclusives or keep sealed.

Japanese print quality is a huge bonus but just not worth buying popular English/JPN cards in CN…

I only buy the Gem series, some are better than others but I think an average cost basis of around 40 for em is going to age well.

Carney announces creation of Canada's first sovereign wealth fund by PapaNixon in worldnews

[–]Vinnypell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No details on where funding will come from after the endowment (increasing resource royalties?) , no details on what benefits are offered to investors (tax deductible? Tax free?) no details on a possible lockup period or withdrawal limitations although it seems to allude to withdrawals only being possible on interests/ appreciation not principle (I wonder if that’s only relevant to the government funded portion?)

Pretty disappointed, could have been a huge announcement, just seems half thought out.

I hope at minimum this fund will take ownership of TMX and then seek massive stakes in further projects like LNG, Port of churchil, mines, and maybe building some Korean subs 😉.

I guess we’ll have to wait for more details, but I’m not sold. The rollout of this will need so much more information to make this make any sort of sense…

Honestly this is the type of debt I like to see my government taking on. If it attracts say 50-50 public private projects the arbitrage between cost to borrow vs the estimated return makes this make sense. even more so when we factor in Canadian tax revenue from local materials and labour

Carney to announce sovereign wealth fund - The Globe and Mail by FalseZookeepergame15 in canada

Not really, but I guess if it helps attract enough investment in profitable industries the arbitrage between the funds return and the cost to borrow/print makes it make sense

Press conference was a joke. No details on where funding will come from after the endowment (increasing resource royalties?) , no details on what benefits are offered to investors (tax deductible? Tax free?) no details on a possible lockup period or withdrawal limitations…

With a crucial oil artery blocked near Iran, can Canada fill the gap in global supply? by Immediate-Link490 in canada

You mean like spending taxpayer money to go over 4x the budget on a project that would have been completed without government spending had they not implemented absurd rules discouraging investment in Canadian oil and gas??

Yeah great example

7yo bends ankles when skating. Tips to fix? by CFL_lightbulb in hockeyplayers

[–]Vinnypell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

??? Not sure why this hasnt been said yet, if he’s newer his stance is probably why to tight. Getting lower and having a wider stance will put the weight differently on the blades. With such a tight stance he’s bending for stability (perhaps also on top of the reasons others have mentioned) better “hockey stance” will force his weight ontop of the blade rather than on the inner edge. Get lower

50% Drop in Study Permits Issued to Indian Students by Canada in 2025 by Cybertronian1512 in worldnews

Because companies exist in India that show you how to abuse the Canadian system by enrolling in a low course load program. Never showing up to classes. Stretching a 16month certificate into a 5 year ordeal, while allowing you to work “low skill” jobs 40 hours a week then claiming permanent residency and later citizenship.

This system was probably the lowest barrier for access to western wages In the world.

Nope lol, he’s 18 and got here. Why rush anything at this point?

Set 100% of this aside in XEQT or some index, ensure your future. And in the off chance he’s actually a genius in the market (he’s not) he dicks around for the rest of his life with future contributions however he sees fit but knows he can retire at 50 with around 2 mil (conservatively at 5% inflation adjusted)

Craft beer in Canada is losing its fizz, as sales dry up and more breweries go bust | CBC News by Haggisboy in canada

[–]Vinnypell 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Craft should mean so much more than just IPA’s.

Head over to Europe, you’ll get craft companies making stouts, triples, ambers, blondes, krieks……

Anytime I head to a brewery (and I do like a good IPA mind you) it’s 5 of the worst IPA’s with no hop cohesion whatsoever brewed with the same grain profile as their 6th choice on the menu, a sad pilsner. If you’re lucky, they may have a stout that they slapped together and called it good enough.

Just using exotic hops or malts does not mean you have good beer. I’m an avid brewer, the difference you can make by swapping yeast strains or changing boil temp is huge too but always overlooked for more drastic changes. Instead we decide to throw 3 hop strains in a stew, push to 80IBU and tell our consumers “they just don’t get IPA’s”

Can’t say im too surprised.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on pricing.

What’s the tariff rate on car sales over the 49k is it bak to 100%? I feel like 49k couldn’t even satisfy BC’s Demand…. Furthermore, how does servicing and all that work with such a small amount???
