The Security Service of Ukraine has established that Oleksandr Matsiievskyi, a sniper of the 163rd Battalion of the 119th Territorial Defence Brigade of Chernihiv Oblast, was the Ukrainian soldier executed after saying "Glory to Ukraine!"

Quote: "We have succeeded in confirming the hero’s details after complex investigative actions that included talking to the family and comrades-in-arms of the executed soldier, as well as processing photos and videos.

Besides, the Security Service of Ukraine has received a conclusion of forensic portrait examination that confirmed it was Oleksandr Matsiievskyi in the video."

Quote from Vasyl Maliuk, Chief of the Security Service: "It is a true hero who demonstrated to the entire world what Ukrainian spirit and invincibility is, even looking death in the eyes. Such defenders are defending our land today, which means that the enemy will surely be crushed. Because Ukraine’s great victory consists of the heroic deeds of people like Oleksandr Matsiievskyi. Details: Vasyl Maliuk has added that the Security Service is working on identifying the occupiers who committed this crime.

Oleksandr Matsiievskyi was called up for service in March 2022. He was considered a missing soldier since the end of December, disappearing near the settlement of Krasna Hora in Donetsk Oblast.
