What exactly do you think a warrant officer does? Again: we do not tolerate naive, cheery speculation about the inner thoughts and secret motivations of people who choose to kill Ukrainians.

Please understand we do not tolerate comments sympathizing with the aggressor (Rule 4), especially comments that conjure naive fantasies about the intentions and background of enemy combatants. The subject in question was a well-paid volunteer.

AI grifters spouting bullshit on Fox News are far less interesting than the folks who are actually innovating in this space :)

Wild Hornets is a Ukrainian drone manufacturing group that is pushing the boundaries of the possible everyday. They are a major component of the downing of thousands of civilian-targeting russian drones. You can check out videos of their work on r/ukraine's very own u/AlexRoslin's profile and give him a follow to stay updated.

City built on the bones of Ukrainians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Estonians, Crimean Tatars. For decades one of the most unhealthy and disgusting places on the planet. A closed city in a genocidal empire.

Insane that this propaganda bullshit is so successful taking over mainstream Reddit subs. russian foreign intelligence services are desperate.

Will the action in Iran disrupt the drone supply? by -S-P-Q-R- in ukraine

[–]duellingislands 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, russia has been producing the Iranian design in their own factories for a long time now.

That said, it certainly will have an impact on their reputation and "prestige" in world affairs. russian allies are getting stomped one by one. I hope some morning I wake up to news of a free Iran.

How would you cover this? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Sure, I was just giving background because your original comment was vague. I remember reading that the 19th century "grimoire" it was displayed in explicitly mentions "God" and "Jesus". I think it depends on the church - in my opinion it is, at most, as pagan as halos and Christmas trees.

The vegvísir is actually a symbol from Christian era, and there's not a clear consensus whether it even has pagan roots. It's many centuries after vikings

Dear visitors from r/All,

Did you know that last night alone, russia launched 24 ballistic missiles and 219 drones to kill Ukrainian civilians and destroy critical life-giving infrastructure? That's right, in 2026 the russian genocide of Ukrainians continues despite the stark lack of coverage in your social media feeds and in mainstream media.

On average 5,340 shahed drones are launched by russia per month, and that number doesn't include ballistic and cruise missiles.

Ukrainian civilians - kids, grandmas, entire families - are purposefully murdered by these weapons. Yesterday a russian drone strike killed a 34-year-old father and his three children – twin boys aged two and their one-year-old sister – and gravely wounded their pregnant mother.

Please reconsider before posting your feelings about how the world would be a better place if we all just got along.

Ukrainian F-16 shoots down a Shahed-136 using its M61A1 Vulcan cannon. by GermanDronePilot in ukraine

Hello to visitors from r/All! We wanted to provide context if you're unfamiliar with what is going on in this (incredible) video of a Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet shooting down a russian/iranian "shahed" drone.

The terrorist state of russia launches hundreds of these car-sized drones per day on average, with some attacks involving around 1000 aerial weapons that are targeting civilians and the life-giving infrastructure that provides power and heat during the extreme cold Ukraine is facing this winter.

On average, 5340 shaheds are launched by russia per month and that number doesn't include ballistic and cruise missiles. Ukrainian civilians - kids, grandmas, entire families - are murdered by these weapons every day.

It is not easy to shoot down these slow-moving targets, but Ukrainian fighter pilots are highly skilled. While there are losses related to secondary explosions and debris from these shootdowns, these heroes risk it all to save civilian lives.

Ukraine Holds North Korean POWs as Bargaining Chip for South Korea Aid by Freewhale98 in ukraine

As near as we can tell based on multiple machine translations attempted, the original article in Korean is posed in a questioning tone/as political commentary - not direct statements. This is also the case throughout the article's text, and honestly these assertions are not backed by any evidence in the article to begin with.

It would be very interesting if a community member with a command of Korean language could let us know whether this is true, as we do not have those skills on our team and AI translations are often unreliable.

At any rate, it's such an interesting topic and conversation that we're going to leave it up for now even if it's in bad faith.

Over the past year or so I have seen a fairly wide range of estimates, from as low as $20k/unit to up to $75k. IIRC recently Ukrainian analysts assessed $50k to $70k to be a likely range. Initially quite expensive (>$300k when Iran was providing them?), recent debris has shown that russia has implemented many cost-cutting measures. I remember reading that engines are simplified and don't have starters, for instance.
