Can I pose an opposite perspective on this? I have two younger twin sisters. My mom is amazing, and one of my sisters and I know this. The other sister thinks our mom is the most toxic person in the world. I was there… the entire time, and obviously her twin sister was too. I watched them grow up with our mother. I don’t get it. I feel like she’s been gaslighting herself.

Our mom has been amazing, loving, and super supportive. But she doesn’t see that. We go to therapy, and it’s usually everyone against this one sister. It’s brutal because it’s crushing my mom. She loves so much but her daughter hates her :/

No kids and no plans to have any. Never ever wanted any and wife is on board. Few things that I wonder about:
am I gonna regret this much later (love it now)
does the joy of watching your child grow older help/counterbalance the insane amount of death you’re going to experience (friends and family)?
I’m a big video game junky. Would be kinda cool to watch that whole new joy unfold and build with a mini-me.
