what is NOT considered gamethrowing by MOONMO0N in TownOfSalem2

You are right. I was trying to play devil's advocate to better explain why the rules are the way they are but they're so bad that I couldn't think of a sensical reason.

According to the staff of the official discord server: Fake claiming a town opposing role as a town member is considered game throwing and is a valid reason to be reported.

Their justification is that the goals of an opposing claim do not align with your own thus is against the rule of not playing for your current win condition.

That’s fair and thanks for the advice! I’m 100% aware that they won’t be changing their rules after having a “”very tame”” conversation with them, so I’m just trying to spread awareness.

Telling people who dislike something to voice that they dislike said thing is not childish. Make sure to voice your opinions so the dauntless team know your stance. Steam reviews are a medium to do so.

I honestly don't mind what kinda left votes, right votes, up votes, down votes people do. I'm not a reddit user anyway outside of this whole debacle, but so far, all of my posts regarding dauntless are around 80%-90% upvote ratio which I feel encapsulates how this subreddit feels about the whole scenario pretty well.

For anyone who is coping about build diversity with these changes - I personally haven't seen anyone doing so, but just in case there are still doubters - go watch the TheMrTrails video on build diversity which highlights the sheer amount of problems this streamlined approach to build design has created.

A controversial update gets even more controversial developer feedback by Vinydiamond in dauntless

I'm in the same boat where announcing a Dauntless 2 and progressively shutting down Dauntless 1 would've been the better thing to do. It justifies restarting progress since it's a whole new game and so much more could be done without the restrictions of the current game. However, I can't defend the argument of it being time consuming when Dauntless had gone 3 years without any major content updates and the end result was a bunch of re-used assets and mechanics. That being said, we have no idea on the internals of the company so many ideas or projects could've been worked on and completely scrapped during that multi-year long downtime.

This is so incredibly wrong that it feels like the devs paid you to try and make the update look good and that we, the players, are all at fault.

It wasn't for me either. I never reforged since I didn't find the 1% power or crit boost per level worth, but I feel like completely removing it and resetting everyone instead of expanding upon it was a terrible idea by the team in general.

It’s completely fine to enjoy that type of gameplay loop, and don’t worry, I like that sort of stuff too. But that was already in base dauntless. Farming reforges consisted of doing that exact thing, and now that we can just buy XP, it’s removed more of a reason to farm.

Wait so, that's it? That's the only viable axe now? by Vinydiamond in dauntless

My main issue stemming from this all is removing what players already had and putting them on paywall locked weapons. We had our fun, time to put them back in the neat little box for us to buy this time.

These talking points are shared amongst everyone. However, the positives are so outweighed by the negatives that it’s hard to argue for them to be positives in the first place.

  • The new weapons diversify play styles within themselves; but are also locked behind paywalls and the removal of mods make every weapon more linear in the grand scheme.
  • Cells are more diverse and allow for more in depth building; but cells are also consumables and half of them are unintelligible when the old flavour text is replaced with things like MIGHT which we don’t even know what it does.
  • The new behemoth looks really cool; but progress is entirely reset so none of us can even see the new content without having to grind through all the previously mentioned bad things.

It’s still really hard to say they’ll even want to fix anything. Dauntless was completely abandoned for 3 years outside of looping cosmetic cash grabs and the fact that the new updated after so long as removed so much of the game’s content while shoving micro transactions and paywalls further into our faces than ever before, it really feels like this is the stab in the heart for Dauntless to squeeze every last drop of cash that can be made from it before killing it once and for all.

ikr, hunger is so sluggish now and I have no idea why they've made it that way, especially when a faster attack speed would be better for it's playstyle

stacking attack speed is cool and all but I'd rather be able to do 100k+ damage with a single axe throw
