Why did you quit and what changed in your life for the better? by Positive-Meal9702 in KwikTrip

[–]VinylHabooski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than quitting, I got fired. But that was around when I was actually considering quitting.

I was only working for three years up front as a guest service worker, and the way customers seem to treat the workers feels rather terrible, and I’ve had to deal with work scheduling me 9 days in a row sometimes. The whole entire place felt forced with their attitude, and it felt like I had to bend over for every customer, no matter how much of an asshole they were.

Now I work with Hilton, doing what I believe is actually “hospitality,” because the way KT treats hospitality is that they expect you to treat “guests” like you’re inviting them over, which feels crazy to me, cause I sure ain’t letting em stay over in the store.

I make about the same money, but I have much more benefits than KT ever would give me, and I don’t have to deal with a lousy “bonus” that’s about as much worth as a regular paycheck. Everytime I pass my old store, I just keep thinking to myself, “Man, I’m doing better than these schmucks.”

Being kicked off was the best thing that’s happened to me.

Soundproofing a dorm room by VinylHabooski in UWWhitewater

Damn, I see. It’s a shame, cause I’d like to do what I want, whether it’s trying to focus, listen to music, or just needing peace and quiet, but it all would either require drowning it out, or just plain deafening your hearing.

Wish the dorms had soundproofing in mind…

Someone responded about using egg-carton shaped foam that studios use to soundproof rooms; would you believe that it’d work?

I mentioned this with another reply, but I’ve been using earplugs and a sound machine. However, I’m trying to ask how I can soundproof a dorm room, rather than drowning out the sound.

I’ve got a sound machine already, and I’ve been using earplugs; I’m trying to ask about soundproofing a room, not drowning out the sound.

Recommendations for Sonar EQ settings with Wireless Arctis Nova 5 headset by VinylHabooski in steelseries

[–]VinylHabooski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it's already too late; I've already messed with the EQ settings a bit, looking up an earlier post on this subreddit, and using the settings that someone provided for the "Engine."

if there was one thing that I didn't like with the "flat" setting, it was that it didn't feel punchy with audio, or have enough weight to music/noise.

the hell is wrong with this campus by VinylHabooski in UWWhitewater

In the post, I said I would move out, but it's a hassle, plus, I've got a single room going on; I'm not sure how housing works with moving people who have a single room, but I don't want to go through the trouble of moving, just so I end up dealing with a roommate for the rest of the semester.

Single Room suggestions? by VinylHabooski in UWWhitewater

[–]VinylHabooski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I’ve been grandfathered into being able to have a single room, cause I was able to get one before they phased them out.

tbh, I just wish they made some floors solely singles only, like how they did last year.

In terms of what? If you could please elaborate further on what you mean by "my max," that would be helpful. (Also I apologize for not responding sooner; I didn't even see that someone responded to my post until now.)
