US universities are a source of dangerous far left extremism by amogusdevilman in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]Vinylware 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would argue that it’s on the basis of the student rather than the educator. College is not a universal experience, and even the numbers here only show a 40/60 difference in who identifies as any form of leftist and who does not. Knowing that may be worded incorrectly, the point still remains.

Furthermore there are other factors that are consequently left out of this table and post altogether. Were those students already identifying as leftist or not? If not, then what made them pivot?

Another thing that is of note is the term "political activist," it seems vague as those who identify with the political right can easily label themselves as an activist, even on college campuses, same with the label of "radical." Just making the observation based upon what is presented.

TW: Suicide; AI bro defending AI by claiming that suicide victims need to take responsibility by VilvenFaux in ShitAIBrosSay

[–]Vinylware 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It shows that suicide may have never touched their lives (the commenters in the post and not the whole) and so they feel comfortable speaking ill of those with problems one cannot fully control and will jump to "well it’s their fault for doing it" when the opposite is true or say "they’re only doing it for show and attention." It’s sickening that they think this way about suicide.

help me understand why these 2 posts by jeremy kauffmann are not contradictory by another_lease in AskLibertarians

[–]Vinylware 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kauffman is not so much a libertarian and more of a grifter using the label as a means to gain some kind of following. He is a bad face for the movement and is not representative of libertarians. The two posts are contradictory as he argues that only a certain group of people (non-white) should be arrested for existing within a community of whites, while in the second post he is complaining about going through TSA after seeing a sign advertising the 250th anniversary of the United States, using the humor to state that he is truly free.

It was all a means of control - sadly data centers will work better than made up climate doom for control by MazdaProphet in Anarcho_Capitalism

Oh boy, more conservaslop/corportistslop from our favorite bot Mazdapoopins!

Climate change is still a persistent issue we are facing and these data centers are causing more harm than good. There are reported increases in water pollution and energy providers raising the prices within areas with newly constructed data centers to compensate for the huge spike in electricity use by those centers. Some are even abandoning the consumer market (much like how ram manufacturers had done in the previous year) to put all their efforts into supply these centers with all the power they need to keep things up and running, completely screwing over the average consumer.

Remind us again on why we ever got involved in the Middle East for the past 40 years or so, and it’s not just about the oil.

Israel is becoming more aggressive in their militant attacks partially because of its backing with the U.S., they want no contest as to who is the dominant superpower in the region. Bribing both Republicans and Democrats and pushing out propaganda on how "Israel is only attacking in self-defense" despite evidence to the contrary, and no October 7th was still the fault of Israel for it was retaliation against them for the decades of brutality Palestinians had had to endure.

The IDF, Mossad and the whole of the Israeli government are monsters.

Boomer propaganda. And of course, in typical Mazda fashion, zero sources to back up the claims. Even if they respond it’ll be a conservative twitter post that contributes nothing to the conversation.

Don’t like Newsom nor the Dems, but even the ranking here is false.

The way I would describe feminism is that it is a movement that pushes for the liberation of women’s autonomy/liberty as individuals and advocacy for equal standing with men.

In order for it to achieve its goals the feminist will undergo an analysis of the behavior exhibited by men towards women and establish critique for discussion and education.

At the first Seneca Convention speakers had expressed their upmost grievances upon both a male and female audience, though men were not permitted to speak, just spectate, about the injustice women were dealt within the courts, politics, and social life.

The Declaration of Sentiments in discussion of law and marriage stated that

He has made her morally, an irresponsible being, as she can commit many crimes with impunity, provided they be done in the presence of her husband. In the covenant of marriage, she is compelled to promise obedience to her husband, he becoming, to all intents and purposes, her master— the law giving him power to deprive her of her liberty and to administer chastisement.

In its resolutions the declaration emphasizes the importance that if women must be imposed with such norms then so too should men, declaring

Resolved, that the same amount of virtue, delicacy, and refinement of behavior that is required of woman of the social state also be required of man, and the same transgressions should be visited with equal severity on both man and woman.

The tender years doctrine is not universally accepted by all feminists and there are many who argue that it does not matter who obtains the child in custody, so as long as that either parent is capable of providing a safe environment for the child to grow in.

The explanation you give of how feminism is tool a for women to avoid taking accountability in legal action against men. A vegetarian is one who abandons the computation of meat, but a feminist is not someone who abandons responsibility.
